How much does PVD get paid???
View this Thread in Original format
KoreanDJ
A friend of mine told me that Paul Oakenfold gets paid $40 Gs for one night. I didn't believe him at first, until he told him that he has spoken with the paul oakenfold manager or something...and plus he is like 30 something. I doubt he will lie and stuff. Well, in my opinion, Paul Oakenfold sucks...Not mixing wise. I'm just not into his music style. If Oakenfold gets 40 gs a night, what about other big DJs such as PVD, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten......etc etc
DJ Cubano
Oakie is getting paid 35,000 to come do a Live P.A. in Dallas.... So I would hope that he at least makes more money then him!!
cosmix

you can't say he sucks cos you don't like his music style
It depends on the event I believe, the bigger the event, the bigger the fee :)

Damn only 7 grand for PVD? awwww man, that really sucks. I heard Oakenfold when I was down in Crobar, miami. I have to say that the vibes PVD puts out is just way more energetic than Oakenfold...Man, when Bill Gates comes to the UW campus. I will try to become his friend and get some $ to give to PVD. I really think PVD is getting underpaid...

Here is a bit of infos (already posted a long time ago ;) )

Let's play currency ;)

PvD earned 150 000 Euro for Gatecrasher NYE Y2K for 2 hours set.

Need to rememeber that each ticket was paid ot 150 Euro.

1 Euro is 1 $.

25 000 person @ GC Y2K.

this info is coming from the december 1999 or january 2000 edition of MUZIK. I try to find out at home. but it messy in my mags and i can't find out on the net.

I was an article about the person that counts in dance in the world.

The first person was :

According to The Rich List 2001, a report compiled by UK newspaper, 'The Sunday Times', Ministry Of Sound owner, James Palumbo, is one very wealthy man. With a fortune of £150 million, Palumbo is one of the richest people in the British music industry ...
... Born in 1963, James Rudolph Palumbo, ex-Eton schoolboy and son of the retired arts councillor and multi-millionaire property developer, Lord Palumbo, started his career as a city dealer before becoming the superclub tycoon who revolutionised the clubbing industry with the world's biggest club merchandising company. The Ministry Of Sound has as estimated annual turnover of around £10 million. With a personal fortune of around £150 million, Palumbo is worth the same amount as Sir Elton John and Mick Jagger.

Then they gave the personal wage of Jules and Oakie a year & it was some kind of 1 500 000 Euro. And they mention not the wage of PvD but his earning for the GC Y2K.

When i red this article, i thought "in' hell, these guys are blessed. It's just so much..."

Still trying to find more info on the net. gonna try to find this issue at home i will scan the article if i can find it...

Bye.

Another article to gave the pace ;)

18.01.99 - Tong Named as The Most Powerful Man In Dance Music

According to staff at Muzik magazine, Pete Tong is the most powerful man in dance music. He came top of the list of 50 people in dance music who have the most influence.

Muzik editor Ben Turner says: "This list is not about money, it is about who wields the most power - whether it is being the voice for a generation or being able to get records on the Radio One playlist."

This is because of his roles as a radio presenter at Radio One and as A&R director at record company ffrr. His annual earnings are estimated at £450,000 with an overall wealth of £2m.

He says: It's quite embarrassing, especially with Puffy at number two. I've been dodging his calls all week.

Another one :

Well if there weren’t already enough reasons to stay at home in front of the telly for the millennium then news of ticket prices should make your mind up. A report in this month’s issue of Muzik magazine suggest that tickets for some events are going to cost £250 each. Many DJ agencies are not confirming prices for DJs until all the offers have come in which will in turn lead to a bidding war for the top jocks. It has been reported that Todd Terry will be getting £60,000 a gig and Sasha somewhere in the region of £35,000. Muzik has also learnt that two well-known DJ’s are reportedly being paid £250,000 for three gigs in the one night.

Another one :

Fatboy Slim has been declared the fastest earning man in the music industry. His personal fortune now tops £10 million, most of it acquired since the release of the last album.

So,yes, PvD has earned a lot of cash during this NYE and from all i red it was the biggest wage of trance history for one GIG.

Estonia is not as rich so no wonder he's lowering the cost for the gig
Cream21
You have to see the price of a good DJ depends really much on a lot of different things, like where is the party (People ind Estonia I think earn less then people in USA, so the entry in the club is cheaper .. the DJ is cheaper), is it a one time gig or a tour (like is the DJ e.g. going only for one gig from UK to USA or makes he a US tour!) .. the size of the club, the day of the event (e.g. a New Years eve gig will be more expensive then a normal Wednesday gig!), how long should the DJ spin (30 minutes or a complete night!), is the DJ on a promo tour (like is he touring around promoting his latest release ...), .... and they are so much more details so there is no steady price for a DJ !!!!
