in Soundforge, i can get the kick or whatever it is that i want to extract from the song by itself, but the problem for me is, not being able to save it in a .wav format that is compatable with FruityLoops. can someone tell me how to do this? your help is greatly appreciated.

Soundforge can save to just about any audio format you need. What sample rate/bit depth does Fruity support? (Never used it.) Could that be the problem?

Yea, i'm more than sure that the bitrate has something to do with it

agreed check to make sure that the bit rate of your import from sound forge is the same as what you have fruity set at... which if you haven't touched it then it is probably 16 i would guess.

???????????

as in 16 bit, 24 bit, 32 bit. I think they do. They're not talking about 128kbps/192kbps/etc.

Yeah, unless your doing full on production work, like your making sounds you plan on using in the final mix, I'd say you should be using 16bit, 44.1KHz. I don't see why fruity wouldn't support this
Prototrance
Fruity supports 16 bit .wavs. If you are having problems you can re-sample your sliced beat in soundforge.

Or it could be something simple like, you are not restarting fruity after you have put the new samples in your sample bank folders. My mate did this and wondered why his new samples weren't appearing!!
DOH!!
