:conf:

ok i will...
:)
Philby
hmmm
well
that was...average...
:(

got there about 12:15
ing cops have blocked off part of chapel st, you cant drive down there now. dunno why. wankers.

but yeah got in no probs, metal detector scan!

the place as a venue was pretty average too. well i dunno, didnt seem special. bubble is presented a lot better i think.

well the comments about the producers sticking to producing is valid, dj sakin and shokk didnt seem to really mix at all! there was hardly any mixing into the next tracks from what i could hear, mostly just beat matching and then fading the next song in.

i dunno...i think because i was tired and because of my knee i wasnt really enjoying myself. i think ive lost interest in that style of music too...
it was good to see some high school friends there and hearing 'faithless - insomnia' cheered me up but i dunno, i just wasnt into it. scot project cheered me up too though :) i think even if your having an average night if there is something you are even remotely excited about or waiting for it will make you feel better. i perked up straight away when he came on. he also seemed like the only one who actually had some mixing talent too! it was a shame though because i was catching the last night rider home and i only got to see 30 mins of him. but he played a crazy remix of madagascar that got me thinking ' my knee, im getting up for this one!' i went spastic for that track :D i had to go not long after though so i dont know what else he played. i didnt really know any of the tracks earlier in the night apart from 1 or 2 here and there. but the way the night was going i wasnt really gonna be missing much.

so yeah
overall, average venue, average djs, average night :(
dont think ill be rushing back to bass station anytime soon...

I think the remix of Madagascar was the Kumara remix or how ever it's spelled. He dropped that remix @ Gods Kitchen....

Well that's a shame Philby cos I genuinely think Bass Station is a great venue. I do agree though it's not as pumping as Bubble (it's abnormally LOUD in there) but in terms of layout Bass Station have done well to encapsulate a good clubbing vibe nonetheless. I'll tell you now it's much cleaner than the McKillop St. days.

It's one of those hit and miss places where when its good - it's GREAT but when it's average - it's BAD. Luckily enough I've had too many GREAT experiences there to outweigh the average ones.

BTW How ugly is DJ Scot? When I saw him at Kryal I asked my friend is DJ Scot wearing a mask? and he said "No, that's his real face." :D

And finally, that Faithless song may well have been 'Player One - Insomnia (Embargo Mix)', it's worth a listen. :D

See youse all at Bass! :toothless

P.S. Did SHOKK play Excelsis? :conf:

Or it could have even been NIGHTWATCHER - INSOMNIA 2002.

PS. BASS STATION STILL CALLED CHASERS IMO lol

how was Dj Sakin?

resisted
thankfully didn't come down chapel st, used commercial road and turned down the back st behind it, which the cops had blocked off near the round a bout making it one way
the metal detector went red on nearly every person that went through it.

was it just me or did scot project come on straight after shokk and played for what seemed like ages. he seemed to really be enjoying himself unlike the others. he closed nicely with yoji biohoweveruspellit - ding a ling

sakin was good i thought, shokk was pretty average unforunately.
Philby
hmm i thought i liked shokk more than sakin! hehe
yeah scot project came on straight after. who was that fat guy with glasses hanging around the dj booth?
