But I can totaly relate to this issue. Whenever I go home to take a shower I literally stink up the whole bathroom in smoke. If I was a smoker, I would prolly roll the shirt that I was wearing and smoke it right now :D. My eyes also tear up like hell from all the smoke.
I even had a guy come up to me and ask whether or not I was ok, I asked him why he asked he answered "No reason". But I'm guessing its from all the eye rubbing that I did :). |

consider yourself lucky. Definately not a good way to start the night to have some greasy bouncer tugging away at your strudel. Oh yeah, it has happened to me on numerous occasions. I should complain about this to the management. I see now that it has happened to other people too.:mad: |

I have never been to Viva, but by the sound of it, it's a ploy to suck as much profit outta unsuspecting clubbers.
Get vents!
Have plenty of booze!
Dont make people wait in line!
Simple. THEN DO IT!
Ornadel at Guv was really nice, not too hot at all!
As much as i hate Guv (for the crowd), it is geared toward a good clubbing experience!
Why dont clubs allow cameras?

Yeah I wouldn't risk sitting down to go in a place like that. Viva has to work on a few things to make the parties there wayyyyyyyy better. If they can do it then I will continue to go back there and it might very well be considered a better alternative to Guv/KH (if the kinks are worked out, specifically what RJ said about the ppl on drugs... "I've got no problem with people using drugs... but:
1) Do them in private, if you want to snort coke or k, do it in the washroom, I don't want to see it.
2) Do them responsibly. If you start to cause problems and annoyances for others you should be kicked out.
Don't go after the people who choose to use responsibly - go after the ones that over do it and ruin the evening for everybody."

there is such a thing as responsible drugs and drug use .. ?!? :D

We have reviewed most of the complaints presented on this message board as well as an email sent to us directly.
Due to last minute X-mas decorations, the opening of the club was delayed. To avoid conflicts in the future with the 12am deadline for reduced cover, we will extend the reduced cover deadline until 1am for the next special event.
Normally Viva's policy is to not allow cameras of any sort into the nightclub, aside from the official photographers of the club. However, we decided to allow camera use for this event. Initially there were 2 security guards involved with searching people at the front door, they were informed about the policy change. However, once the flow of people entering the club increased 2 more security guards were called to the front to asist in the searching but they were not aware of the policy change. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused and we will make sure that all of the security staff are informed of policy changes in the future.
Again, due to being short staffed, some of the 'trouble makers' went un-noticed. This reduced the security staff's ability to cruise around and remove these people. Again, we apologize and will make sure that we are not under-staffed for future events.
In order to increase the clubs capacity for this special event, we increased to number coat hanging bars in the coat check 3 days beforehand. Since the new system had not been tested previously, problems with the organization of the coats arose. We are in the process of reconstructing the entrance to allow for a greater flow of people entering and exiting the club, as well as to allow for a proper line-up at the coat check.

We will do our best to address all concerns presented in the emails and to correct the issues already mentioned.

alrite .. nice to hear that some of our concerns are atleast being heard. even if they're not solved 100% atleast you guys know that it's happening and this is a step in the right direction. nice to see management actually respond for a change as well.. ( i don't think anyone from Guv manage has ever posted here about problems at their parties! )
hopefully the next time we all drop in for a special event we'll see some of these new improvements in effect..
now how about a 3 compliments about Viva thread .. ? :D |
