i hope it dont, the travel to london will cost a bomb, Not to mention all the ing about. Im a lucky to live in sheff cos it only takes us 15 mins to get home after a night there. London will take the piss!! :( :( |

I don't think he will be retiring tho, i mean come on, he is booked to play at Heaven on 27/12 with Hardwick and the 31/1/03 with PvD, so it seems a bit unlikely.
And how can u close GC?! Its a part of British culture, like Curries and illegal immigrants! :haha: |

I think Bond is probably pulling out of crasher and resigning his residency. Can't see him throwing in the towel alltogether. The rest is just rumours blown out of proportion.
My opinion, but then we all said that about the "crasher's going monthly" rumours so.... |

the scott bond retiring thing is definatly true. that is fact. but as spad said, its not clear as to what retiring actually means. i myself wouldnt beleive for a cotton pickin minute that he would quit DJing for good, but having said tha.. he's been everywhere, done everything and dribbled on every damn t-shirt he got along the way. so he may mean that he's saving himself for special occasions only..
as for the GC retiring thing.. this is just a rumour. the source was pretty reliable, but again its not clear what is actually meant by it. it could mean a move down to heaven (which has been mentioned a few times before) but i myself cant see that happening either.. because the republic is the better venue hands down, and although i havent been myself a lot of ppl i know have, and they have all said the crowd doesnt have that spark that is so evident in the northern crowds..
now comes my problem. i really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really want to be there on NYE, but im not sure i will have the funds in enough time to get a ticket.
when im rich, im goin to start up a bank that accepts people for loans of £50 just so they can go out :p |

| I really dont understand the Gc retiring bit! Its doing so well again now! There is a demand for it! Monthly makes it special and a sell out! Why destroy something that works? If it does go, it will be because fat and lazy raine and bond cant be ed to carry it on! |

OK - I have not read any of this thread other than JeFfS's post but:
I heard this too, about 6 weeks ago. I did not say anything because it was un-corroborated (unconfirmed). I heard that Republic would not host any GC night as of 31 Dec 2002 and that Scott would play the last set. - DRED !!!
I thought this was false when I heard that Matt nad Scott were doing the midnight set B2B but....
As I have said - I have not read anything else in this thread other than Jeff's comments so, hopefully, this will already have been proven to be false. If not.....dont even go there !!!
