| might be a dumb question but how do you rename the files in DOS? (that's what u have to do right) I haven't used it in so long. |

Use windows, just click on the song and delete the .cass bit and put .mp3, hey presto , jobs a good 'un |

heh, they used to be mpeg files sumo that's why Trance Outlaw's askin'. it was only recently technodron decided to use the .class extension.
anyway, to rename in dos go into the directory of where your file is located and type:
ren oldname.oldextension newname.newextension
easy as pie. :) |

What is the .class extension..... will it play or is it just a bogus extention name they came up with????

i use to go into DOS and change the file names, but in DOS you are limited to an 8 character name...
you can also change file extensions in windows. you just have to go into explorer and click on the "View/folder options..." drop-down menu...then click on the "View" tab in the window that opens up. Next, uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types" then click "apply" and "ok." you should now be able to see all file extension in windows and you should be able to change them...i find this a lot easier. |

its a java class file, or it should be :)
usually its a mp3 renamed to avoid being caught by the admin |
