Problems with winamp?

Hey all,
I've been having a few probs with winamp lately. Every time i start playing a huge mp3 file( maybe 150mb+) it runs ok for about 30 mins then my whole system just freezes and i have to restart my comp. This is fairly annoying when i'm trying to record long mixes straight to minidisc.
I tried winamp 3 earlier but it wont even play the mp3(my system just crashed again!).
Is this just cos the mis is so big?
Any help/comments appreciated :)

I don't think it's got something to do with the system, because winamp pre-loads tiny pieces of the file when playing it... does it happen to ALL mp3 files or just to one?

just seems to be the one big file(pvd live@amnesia)?
Guess i'll just stop playing it so

Thanks anyway

try uninstalling the program and putting it back on, or try mediaplayer

that is a weird problem and i never heard of that before :nervous: its not that big a file, i have 3 hour long mp3's and they play fine

check the output plugin, you could be recording what is been played on winamp, thus a lot of memory is necessary... you'd have to select another plugin, one that only plays the stuff..

maybe its that, maybe not.
