Need some feedback on the stream quality last night. One of my mates was tuned and said it was buffering to buggery, so I tuned in on my other comp and it seemed fine.
However, as a precaution I lowered the 128 stream to 112kbps. I also noticed a lot of people switched from the 112/128 stream onto the dial-up 32kbps stream, was this cause the b/band stream was buffering?
the server connection is 2MB, so realistically this should support at least 15 high quality listeners, and I'm sure I only topped 12 last night.
Anyway please let me know, if there were widespread buffering problems this was not the source stream as that was crystal clear and I managed to record it fine (will upload tonight).
Think of jacking in the radio idea altogether as the bandwidth costs are just way too high. I think people prefer d/loads.
The only alternative is to go Peer2Peer radio (v.limited software out there). I may just use the server for d/loads only, or even set up an FTP style project.
suggestions/comments always welcome.
