1/4" Amp Out to Home Stereo aux/vid?

I just setup my Behringer DX1000, and I noticed that unlike before, RCA cables arent supported on the mixer for the master output. Do they make any adapter, or chain of adapters, that could take 1/4 plugs and eventually split them into RCA cables that would work in a home stereo?

Your master out connection is for an XLR cable. The connection should be 1/4" TRS (tip, ring, sleeve = headphone jack) (with two rings for stereo) to XLR. The XLR will plug into amps etc. This mixer is ment more for club or studio setup, and that is why it doesn't have normal RCA connections for your master out.

What I suggest doing is using the fewest number of adaptors possible. I would get a headphone extention cord that is as long as you need it to be (up to about 15' max). I'm not sure if you can get one that is 1/4" to 1/8", but if you can, then get that, otherwise get 1/8" to 1/8". From here you will need two more adaptors, one for 1/8" to 1/4" and one from 1/8" to RCA. I think this is better than getting a 1/4" to 1/4" headphone extension and using two adaptors on the other side. (Unless you can find 1/4" to RCA, which I don't think exists). Go to radioshack and talk to the guy there. I shouldn't spend more than $30 for all of this stuff--your cord should be $15-25 and your adaptors should be about $5 or less each.

Good luck!

You should be able to use the RCA's on the back labeled tape out

or the ones on top of the mixer.

that should work.

if you have to use the 1/4" to RCA they have adapters called 1/4" to rca. They look like a 1/4" connector with hole on the back. should be less than 2 bucks

but why not use the tape outs???

Yeah, well I use the tape out's right now, but I'd like to be able to control the volume of my speakers by using the master volume and stuff, and not having to control it through my stereo. I think that's what I'll do, just get some adapters and jimmy-rig it.

yes, they have TRS to RCA adapters
that's what i use on our amps at work
the amps have a 1/4" TRS input and my mixer has an RCA out

you should be able to find them at any local electronics shop

hell my boss buys them in bulk cause we go through a lot of them
(losing them, breaking... that sort of thing)
