Even though i totally agree with Dj'ing not for the money, i still think its an expensive hobby. How much do the regular Dj's charge for a party or a club sesh? (Ballparking it), And any suggestions for first gigs? Thanks

I think the average local DJ gets approx 200/300 per club night,,, big parites maybe a little more.

In case anyone needs more motivation to spin, I know a small club in Providence, RI booked a local DJ from New York with some mild regional appeal for $16,000 a night monthly residency.

Whoa! That is huge. Well, we all have to take in account on how much we spend on spinning. If you put it all togather, it puts a heavy dent in your pocket.

Truth. So does cocain, weed, gambling, and all sorts of other -- so at least we're doing something cool with our wasted money.

my good friend (who i started spinning with)
just got a residency that finally pays decent money
he now makes $150 per hour of djing
and the good thing about that is now he can set that as his base price for future bookings :)

and the good thing about that is, once he's established, i'll hopefully become a regular guest :)
Zain
Yea, that would be amazing. So how does that work shock? Do you have to play a different set each night? Or do they supply music? What is the normal wage for someone like you who is a guest?
DJ_Shockwav
i don't know if and what i'd get paid
and he plays his own records
i guess it really doesn't matter if he plays a different set every night
as long as the people keep coming to dance :)
