is it a given that to be a popular DJ, you have to also produce?? i couldn't think of one off the top of my head that doesnt produce.
tiesto, pvd, marco v, ferry, avb, carl cox, oakenfold, sasha, digweed. all dj AND produce. the only big name dji can think of that doesnt produce is jules. unless he does under a different name and i just dont know it. so, in order to become a big nme dj, do you have to produce killer tracks as well?? |

That's a good Q-
I think most DJs get into producing or start producing b/c they are around the ppl and equipment to do so. The additional money can't hurt either. I think you're right to assume a popular DJ is also a producer. It only helps them get their name out and $ell$ more copies of their music. Even if the production is dog, by sheer numbers someone somewhere will like/buy it.
but hey thats just this negroes OP |
