im shocked, i feel sad and sorry for the family in the van  :(
damn racers.!
| quote: | | wtf were this kids racing on an occupied street for?! im a "racer" but hell, im smart enough to do it where there is absolutely nobody around, not on some street with other people ahead of me... why werent they wearing seatbelts?!?! i put in racing seats with a 4 point seatbelt system in my car, just so i can be safer. if your gonna race, race in an industrial zone at night, since theres nobody around there at that time. i also agree you should block of the area where you are gonna run, its safer! that story is very unfortunate, and i feel horrible for the young lives that were lost |
thats a good idea, but you have to agree it cant be 100% effective against people who are walking right...:(
so what happened to the eclipse? |

| That driver in the Accord V6 is a F*ucking Moron. First of all his car is a slow ass piece of sh*it and hes using up all his money on useless engine management crap and buying a momo steering wheel for his 3 ton car. Second he is not wearing a seatbelt without an airbag. Third obviously this guy does not know how to drive and handle his heavy ass car around. this guy shouldnt even be driving. what kindve girl gets into a car like this anyway. wanna-be racer |

An stock V6 1998-2002 Accord is weighting just over 1 ton and is a very fast car in its class (probably much faster whatever you drive)... Plus, that "ricer" had it moded out, etc... So yeah... :( |

What's frustrating is that you can usually get access to race circuits in or near most major cities.
If people want so badly to race, why not spend the effort to do it in a safe enviornment where your car has to pass certain standards to race...
Silly EGO is all.. Hey look at my car, its fast.. My daddy gave me $20,000 to make my car cool, hehe look at me as I die.
When will morons learn its not how you impress people that matters, its MUCH more important to be a good ing person with some brains who cares more about living a good life than being a stupid fool who wants to impress total strangers....
Oooooooh look at me, my fancy car.. Like that matters at all when you are lying on your deathbed... |

| This is just dumb. Street racing is more worthless then a slug that can't move. I race my car, but I race it where it's legal. I don't understand why it's so hard for these other morons to race at a TRACK. So what if you have to drive 3 hours to get to it. Most of these idiots drive around in their car thinking they're cool trying to impress the opposite sex, which they really are not doing. Just making a complete moron of themselves. But they drive around for hours. Why not use those miles and go to a track, same with gas. I don't understand crusing or street racing, I have never done it, nor will I ever. I go to local cruise places, but I park my car and leave it. No point in showing it off. I hate doing that. I could careless if my car is better then someonoe elses. But there's always someone better. If killing yourself in a street race isnt enough to get you to stop. Why not think of the other people that could be killed? |

So to you just over a ton is 3000 lbs? I guess. Also, the 2002 with the 3.0L makes like 200 horse power. By far not that great. And with a 3000lbs weight, I would say a mid 15 in the 1/4 at about 94mph. |

i dont know what car you drive but there are not many street cars on the road today that are around 1000lbs. And i do know about Accords because my freind has one. And his car is not faster then what i drive, which is a integra GSR. also its true, the accord is not 3000lbs... its 3329lbs. and the quarter mile on this tank is 16.1

jsut to clarify... thanks |

first off, any of you freaks who are talking about 'cars' at this moment are completely ing sick, cold-hearted mother******s, and i hope karma catches up to your asses. no joke either, thats some serious business and you guys are here blaming her for not wearing a ing seatbelt? as if the situation was under her control?? YOU, did you not see her?? IT WAS not her fault, it does not matter that she was not wearing a godamn seatbelt, because even if she was she still would have gotten EDUP. If you are going to race, keep it to a godamn track, because that is where at least your dumb-ass will die if you crash, and not somebody elses. sick s, i cant believe some of the people on this site.
im out, no point in trying to persuade anybody here, its just a lesson in futility. |

jo fire999.. that story was soo nastily graphic.. omfg.. i have this image in my head.. *yuck*
oh and to all the people, who are now starting to stereotype _ALL_ racers as being retards.. and deserving to die, please thing twice. I am not a racer but i think that there are many different people who race cars -even on streets- as there are different people interested in everything.
I agree, racing on an occupied street is _NOT_ the smartest thing i have ever heard of, but we -who demand tolerance- should not start creating stereotypes based on ONE story, just as we wich that people don't create stereotype about trance/ techno lovers based on a bad example that gets publizised. |

sorry. maybe that is an attitude thing, but many people do believe in choice.
It was HER choice to enter the vehicle. It was her choice to drive with that person. Now, I am not saying that she might not have known the driver well enough so that it was a bad judgement call. Nonetheless, as it was described earlier, the racing had been going on for a couple of sets of lights and i guess, she had plenty of time to either leave the car of buckle up.
Whether of not she would have been 'f'd up' regardless is not my call to make. i do not know enough about that accident to say anything in particular, but from the knowledge that i have been fed over the years, i believe to know that a person is usually safer with a seatbelt than without.
I am not saying that she deserved to die. I am in no position to make that call for anyone. I feel somewhat sorry for her, then again, I may suggest that in the end, the reason these people, not the passengers of the van, but the racers and their passengers, died, was natural selection. U need to face the consequences of your actions.
I do feel sorry for these people, but they had a choice. The 20K children that die in 3rd world countries on a daily basis do not. Since I am not shedding tears for them, you will not see me shedding tears for these people, that fell viction to their own device. |
