ooooooooooooo la la !!!!!
i tought i didnt really like that kind of music but has an open minded person i decided to give it a chance...but...... CRAZY MOFO BEATS !!! ctait malade ! now i know why biggy talks about only 2h30 is enough ! mastercongo that was tribal ? if this music tonight was tribal then i now lobe tribal !!
It was really intense...he was changing track every 2 minutes :)
1- Thx to mastercongo who lend me 50 cents bcz the guichet automatique doesnt work at ARIA and i didnt have any change left for the coat check;)
2- 2 tracks i DIE to know :
- A track that was like in the first hour, mastercongo had is hand in the air and there WERE big BANG BANG .... BANG BANG tribal drums going on !
- A track a couple of people seemed to know in the first hour with vocals of a girl... not get on up:p

-lots of girls at the end of the night.
less good:
-i missed the first hour of preach's set.
-one of turntable is randomly SKIPPING, and it was also like that at Ornadel.
-ben sims only stayed 2 hours(and he leaved quickly).
-Sims's tracks was standard, no suprise, only techno..(but i think i heard gatex..)

How did it compare to Tiesto night in terms of people?
I'm curious to find out if ARIA has become "the next big thing" in MTL. ie: Has it reached the upper echelon for attendance? -- was the Tiesto night out of the ordinary, or will every night (whatever the guest) be like Tiesto?
Just curious to get your perspective.
Rnakr - looks like you guys had a great time. It sounds like it wasn't too packed. I long for the nights where there was room to dance IN FRONT of the DJ - ie Ferry Corsten back in Feb '02 and Armin van Buuren back in April '02. Those were by far my favourite nights at ARIA. |

the track your looking for might be a track from DJ Cave but thats just I wild guess since I wasn't at Aria that night but I did see him the day before at Dagobert. The way you describe the song fits exactly to that song I'm talking about... unfortunately I dunno the title and I haven't been able to find any DJ Cave tracks...

rnakr the tune you want is cave - street carnaval. cave s a friend n irc ;) and his tune got sgned to ben sims label ignoma? i spoke with cave yesterday before leaving to sims and he told me to ask sims to play it but since i didnt get the chance to speak with sims. couldnt ask. and still sims played it whoaaaaaaaaa it's amazing. the other song you asking is ben sims - manipulated (adam beyer remanipulated remix)

like i said sims was out of this world. tribal techno till the end. that night i was reading the free paper HOUR and the critic of electronic music put sims as one of the best nights of the year last time he was at aria back in feb? march? anyway good thing i didnt miss him. cause it was just amazing. the way he concentrates on the mixing etc. hope you got some tips preach :P saw that you stayed a long time watching him. and did notice the problem you had witht he turntable with your last record. and did yaz spin? i only saw preach, sims and mateo.
and i would not call this set standard.
tranceplant this was a great night. it was not packed . it was busy but you had space to dance. you cant really compare since tiesto was just packed like hell.

LOL!! you right, my fault!!! i was was reading your post and wondering who the f*&^ heard yaz yesterday.. i was there till the end, ... then i realizzed it was me in my previous post.. lol man, thats whats happening when you are not sleeping for days. sorry !
i think the set was "standard", but then again (since im am far from claiming myself technoaddict) i cannot really judge his work. The mixes were incredible, im no dj, but im sure every dj have someting to learn from him. |
