Gods Kitchen Xmas Special: Armin, Ferry Mission Debriefing

Last nite at code it was the xmas special all niter with Armin, Ferry, Kid Vicious, Fergie and Darren Shambarla (summit like that).
Firstly, i got id'd again (lol), after saying my dob pretty fluently they let me in, just said bring some id next time, and the other bouncer who did me last time was on, but i kinda ducked past him. so im not going code again now until i get my fake id. they even found my bloody chewing gum which i stashed in the leg of my spare trousers ffs! grr
Top marks to the sound system, the sound system at gods is ing imense, this is gona sound gay but normally in a club the closer to a speaker u dance, the louder in that direction the music comes from, not at code, doesnt matter where u stand on the dance floor, the sound is imense in every direction giving a total wholeness feel to the sound, quality.
The lazers were at there normal brilliance aswel.
Darren: standard warm up set, did do one major up at the end, like when u listen on a cassette and someone has recorded over it, and the track jumps, well he did that near his end and everyone was like "wtf", but then he finished.
Armin: tops. as usual, armin NEVER dissapoints and played at the start uplifting, then hardened out and played a wicked hard set switching slightly between hard and hard and uplifting, utter brilliance.
Fergie: WANKER!!!! i cannot believe this man!!! he came on after the club was on such a high from armin, and played the most boring, monotonous, empty, bare, bland, u name it, 2 hours of tracks with no substance, no synth, no ANYTHING. just plodding along, cleared the dance floor and dragged the nite out, making it appear a chor to be there. ing twat!
Ferry: ferry came on, but fergie had already killed the nite, after his set no1 could really be arsed to get dancing full on again, ferry played a decent set, didnt bang it 110% but he sensed that the crowd wouldnt go wild to it, so played a decent uplifting set but not too much to get on our coz fergie trashed and depleated everyones mood.
Kid: didnt no what to expect, but it was good. played a mint hard set, nice to listen to, nothing too major as again, fergie distroyed the nite so people just wanted something to listen to.
All in all it wasnt the best nite at code, everyone thought it was kinda crap, mainly due to fergie, upto armin everyone was buzzing and the nite was awsome, but then having two ours of NOTHING, it sounded like it was computer generated, so 2 hours of sitting down, chatting, tootling around, no1 could then be arsed to get going again, really killed the nite and took away all atmosphere from code. moron.
Edit: Jon was behind the decks just hanging out with armin and ferry so i nabbed him for a mini chat, hes at passion now doing a back2back with andy baggulary. |

| Yeh fergie has really gone down in my estimations. I heard him at gcsss and gkgg and his sets were pretty good, hard trance and techno. But then i saw him at gk, with jules, and it was painful to listen to it, so boring, i just felt like leaving. He really needs to sort out his djin. A wasted tallent i think :( |

really enjoyed friday! Armin gave me his dub of yad! *faints* tryed to brag 4x4 - indigo.. but Ferry wouldnt give me his copy heh.. also he's done a tune with steve helstrip that he played! fookin awesome.. wouldnt give me that either ;)
and of course Armin playing dave's tune (roberts remix) i died f0x :D |
