if you have a full duplex sound card (it can play and record at the same time) then play the real audio file and use somthing like cool edit to record and save it to MP3. It's cheating i know, but it works ;)

hold on i'll gho search thru my list of software and see wot its name is..
u can only do it 10 times though coz its shareware but what i do is uninstall then reinstall hehe and thats 10 more :D

the name is StreamBox Ripper.
I checked online however and new versions no longer support converting real audio to mp3.
i can't find mine its somewhere in these old piles of CD-Rs..
if u can grab an old version ur lucky..
if i find mine i'll send u a copy.

| there's this plugin that lets you play real audio through winamp. all you got to do is use winamp to convert the real audio to a ".wav" file and then use another proggie to convert it back to an ".mp3 file". it's a long process but it gets the job done. |

alternatively.. u could record ur real audio to an external source..
then plug the external source back into pc and record as an mp3 |

To Paul Van Trance: I found Streambox Ripper on download.com, but it's a new version where that feature isn't on.. :(

yeh i told u new versions dont support that option anymore.
too bad,.. i didn't find my copy az well..
i guess that wianmp plug-in is cool.. i would use that if im u.. just dunno which one it is |

^^ do that, cuz ur sound card will be full duplex unless u been ripped off :) i bought mine for £5 and it does it..
i thought cool 2000 opened real media, but i just checked and it doesnt.. although it can save to that format.. work that one out!
