Loveparade 2003 - 2006 will definately take place

Berlin Senat and Loveparade-Organization "Planetcom" have reached an agreement that ensures the Loveparade can be held the coming years. The Loveparade will take place each second weekend of July in Berlin. This will mean that groups who want to have a demonstration on the same day and place as the Loveparade will have no chance. Planetcom will have to pay 25.000 Euro each year to compensate the damage done to the Tiergarten. Loveparade 2003 will be on the 12th of July.
In other words: Loveparade does no longer have to pay for police and cleaning costs (over 250.000 euro). So less sponsors are needed, which finally puts a stop to the commercialization of the event.
Last two years Loveparade lost money, this year they probably will break even. If the weather helps, it could be a real turning point.
Loveparade 1997 and 1999 were the best ever :) |

its a global event, and I think its good for germany.

I heard the municipality of Berlin is 30 billion Euro in debt....they cut down ridiculous amounts for funds. E.g. childcare gets 8 Euro a child a year to FEED them (omg!)
