I was just wondering, do you guys think that being a good DJ is genetically decided?
Are you born with the talent to become a good(perfect) DJ or can anyone develop it?

Maybe if they find such a gen, a perfect DJ can be created! :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

Yeah, I know
I'm not talking about the perfect human, nobody's perfect.
Just a DJ with perfect DJ-skills.

Mmmm... let's do it the natural way then.

Armin van Buuren will have to marry DJ Astrid. If they get children, and Paul van Duck gets kids too, it would be a good idea to put them all on the same school. With some luck Armin's daughter and PvD's son will fall in love and get babies.

One of these will probably turn out to be world's best DJ ever :D

experimentally, most factors that affect a person is due to genetic predisposition. they have done many tests regarding talent, IQ, diseases, personality, etc... and compared identical twins raised apart, fraternal twins, siblings reared apart, kids and parents, and even kids and foster parents. usually nature correlates over nurture most of the time. if youre a good dj, the skills that you need to be a dj were probably given to you from your parents. one must define what a "good dj" is first, however... and that definition oporationally does not exist in my opinion.

My father was always in to music...i think for about over 25 years now...i just turned 21...

i think he was a big influence on me becoming a dj....he plays music (in a band...then later in life at church) even though its not what i spin...it helped me get an understanding of timing and the composition of a track, keeping time, etc... he loves music....guess its just something that has been passed down to me...cuz i love music too

thanks dad :happy2:

i don't think you're born to become a DJ or something, i just think some people have the (born?) talent to being able to 'isolate' beats, make music flow, have a feeling for what the people (= crowd) want, ...

this doens't have to be a DJ, it can also be a violinplayer for all i care ...

This doesn't mean that only people that have this ability can become DJ's ... they just won't have such a hard time at becoming one ...

hope this is understandable :D

well.. my opinion.. some are born with a talent of being good at football, some are being born with the talent of mathmatic skills... and some are being born.. better than others with the skills a dj need! not saying some ppl are born to be dj's... some ppl just have the "pitch-ear" and some dont... ive heard a bunch of people spin now.. and it is actually pretty easy to hear from their first vinyl touch, if they are gonna make it or not..

yea some people might have more rhythm than others but it's all about practice...the more talents might not have to practice as much to get good at it but practice makes perfect.
