I Need Help Identifying a Latin Musical Instrument.

Ok it's a type of flute. ahh kinda
It's made up of lots of different flutes stuck together in a row. It's held and played vertically. I think they might be suger cane or bamboo sticks. Each one is a different size and the melodies that come out of it. Ahhh god!
I saw a South American guy playing it in the street a while ago but I forgot to ask him what it was called. I'm trying to find out the name of the instrument so hopefully I can search the net for some artists and download some of that music.
Any sort of help will be appreciated.
