How do i reproduce this violin melody? (mp3 inside)

| I'm trying to compose a track based on this violin (or viola?) melody, but am having trouble reproducing the sound. Could someone tell me how to do this? I've tried experimenting with strings in FruityLoops, but couldn't get the right sound. Original. |

yes,
you can almost get the exact sound using Reason 2.0
it comes with a handy thing called the Orkester Sound Bank, filled with real sounds, including an array of very nice violins. |

| Thanks, i'll give Reason a try. Can't use the original because the recording quality is crap. There is a lot of noise, plus background instruments that i don't want. |

| Finding Reason appears to be harder than i expected. I only found one bot on all of IRC that has the ISOs (almost 1.5G combined), and it was offline. Argh. |

you can make good violin/cello sounds if you use Fruity Dx-10 or Dreamstation though...
they don't come with fruity though... so you'll have to buy it... or download it off the net illegally |

| Alright, i've got it all now. Reason 2.0, DX 10, DreamStation. Gotta love P2P! :D Can't get Reason going yet though, gotta buy some blank CDs first. About to try out DX 10 and DreamStation, i'll post here with my findings. |

| I can't figure out how to load up Dreamstation (see my other thread), nor how to get DX10 to sound anything like a violin. I've exprtimented with it and it seems pretty good though, if i can figure out how to work it that is ;) |
