yo,
I'm sure some of you may know... for the rest of you... an alpha test release of doom III has been leaked and is currently floating around the internet.
there is no simple way to get it (direct download), but i'm sure if you use your peer-to-peer you'll have no problem. the copy on kazaa is a fake. the only real file i've seen has been doom_III.rar on direct connect (364mb).
If you want it, and don't use direct connect yet do the following:
-get direct connect here.
-the hub i use is macgyvers.evildc.com, so go either there or somewhere else that looks like they have it.(you can set the auto connect hub in settings=>connections)
-search for the file name doom_iii.rar (or for doom 3, or doom iii, or whatever)
-if you use a router or firewall you might have some problems, if you can get onto a hub (which usually has an amount of shared minimum limit, macguyer's has 40 gbs minimum last time i checked), talk to an op, they will help you.
i hope this helps all who are interested.
peace and good luck,
matt |

I got that leak like a month and a half to 2 months ago. Its pretty fun. Its just the e3 maps, so no biggie (and the usual cheats - god, noclip).
I deleted it right after I played it. It was just a teaser I think hehe =) |

| I played it and my jaw dropped. I was getting 15-25fps on my AMD1600+, 1GB PC2100, GeForce3 |

yo,
that's all good and all... i'm having trouble you know... getting past the main menu. it crashes witha fault in doom.exe... some memory address... did you both get that rar file that was 364 megs? cause i read around and it said it was 380 megs... or is it just my computer?
any assistance (eh chem) would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,

I think the file size was 364 megs. you might have had somethin else attached to that file :nervous: :nervous:
Though, i do know that you have to manually load each of the 3 e3 maps.
And the game worked fine on my system too:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
Geforce 4 TI 128 meg
512 RAM PC2700 |

| Doom3 will be one of the few games I actually buy, the graphics are already incredible, and I expect when they ship it, the ai and gameplay will be equally good. |

I have had this game {Beta} Since June. I had a Beta Server going for it {Averaging about 5 of the same people a day, About 20 people had it} And I received a e-mail and a letter from ID Software's "lawyers" saying I have 30 days from the date of the letter until they will press charges on me. So On exactly the July 15th at 11:59:59PM Eastern Time, I took it down :( But the SP and MP is the ! :D |
