New Location For Space

| has everyone heard that space bought a new place and is moving? they got a warehouse in downtown miami and it is 2 floors. it is supposed to open in feb 2003 and when it does it will be the largest venue in the us. i am not sure if i am happy or upset by this move. i have come to love space and i feel that after the move more and more people are going to be coming that dont really enjoy the music...they will be coming just to come and get drunk. i have already noticed a decrease in the quality of peeps coming into space and i fear the worse after the move. on a side note....space is also planning on opening a 40,000 sq. foot club out in las vegas but that is all i know on that. if anyone has any more info on any of this or has any opinions, i would love to hear them. have a happy new years. off to dream about pvd's set at space on fri night. |

| yeah i got that email also, i saw from their website a while ago from their space videos that it showed the front of the warehouse and its only 2 blocks west of where Space is now,... dunno about you but i am quite excited about the upgrade,... i would guess that there will just be more rooms for different genres of music,... |

| i wouldnt mind separate rooms but i would not be surprised if they made one floor all hip hop and the other floor all trance/progressive. has there been any talk of hiring new residents b/c i have not heard anything. if there is talk of a bunch of new residents then i think we can assume that there will be more than just 2 big rooms. |

i received the email, and i'm pretty excited about the new venue.
i'm not a huge fan of the set-up at Space, but the dj booth ROCKS! hope this does not change.
it would be nice if the new venue had higher ceilings, and VENTILATION. it gets very very smokey inside.
a great laser, like the one they have at Guvernment in Toronto!
and a new sound system would be nice, along with places to SIT.
and more stalls in the girls bathroom, or perhaps 2 bathrooms. there are only 4 stalls and i think 2 sinks, the bathroom is tiny. YUCK!
if any or all of these suggestions took place, i'd be pretty happy with the move.

ive been to space 6 times now, and just this past friday was the first time they didtn have the huge green laser that shot towards the dj booth, it would hit the enormous disco ball and shoot down on everybody, it really kicked ass, i noticed that they put up those huge speakers on the box in the back and i personally didnt think they were necessary, there are several bathrooms throughout Space, i think 3 guys and 3 girls, the one behind the main booth is always the busiest, personally i would go to the one in the blue room/ hip hop room b/c its always in and out no problem (my sister agreed so its not a guy thing),... i didnt really notice a smoke problem, but then again i might not know what its like to have a truely venheliated club?? :conf:..., but yes about the places to sit, i couldnt agree with you more,... when main room first opens after everybody is cramed in the red room, people make a bee-line to those boxes to sit on, at least the patio is available to sit if necessary (then again you are taken away from the main dj :rolleyes: ) |

i would enjoy them opening a location in vegas, there is absolutely nothing close to a decent club here
sure do hope they dont screw the miami one up though |

| Well - looks like I'll never get a chance to go to the old one. I hope the new venue is just as good if not better. I'll be finding out in March :D |
