Myself and a friend have just started in the production 'business' and I have the full version of Reason 2 running. However, I think the closest we have ever been to producing is Dance eJay and we were overwhelmed by Reasons' capabilities!
It is rather confusing however.....because we are pretty sussed on what each of the racking devices does and how to manipulate them, but we're not too sure how we get the samples we have made into the sequencer. A bit vague I know, but are there any dunce tutorials available, or perhaps anyone that is just willing to spend some time typing how to start making a song and implementing various melodies etc into one song.
Thanx in advance

I use fruity, but i know a little about reson too i guess....
If you want a tutorial, why dont you guys just start reading the Manual that comes with it, its very detailed i guess.
I also know there is a tutorial CD from Proppelerheads, check on the Reason site...
about how starting a song.... you need a mixer first, than create a Drum machine, load some samples onto it...ehm in the same time starting reading the manual i guess, and you'll get you way around it:p |

I have read through the manual meticulously and it just doesn't seem to be happening for me. It doesn't seem as though any samples i create in the devices record and are shown by the sequencer. Am i doing something wrong?
i.e. if i were to make a bass line, i would use the base-matrix etc to actually make the sample, go to the sequencer and click the midi 'in' button, press record then play. I then stop it when i want....

The matrix is producing no sounds at all....
it is used to controll other devices such as samplers and synths...
And i dont readly understand your first question....do you have a midi keyboard?... if so you simply create a Substructor for example, then you check if there is a midi connection icon near it in the sequencer channel...you also should check in the "Midi In device" that a midi is routed to the substractor....
then you just click the red record button and then cilck the play button and then playing some notes on you keyborad..
or you can simply go to the sequencer, click on the left icon saying "edit mode" and draw some notes!
:wtf: Hope i helped you in some way |

hard work with a high latency soundcard. best off drawing them in on the sequencer at the bottom |
