i just saw chris c last night at a new years rave
it was pumpin and all of a sudden in comes zombie nation
he didn't play the whole thing, mixed in before the breakdown and mixed out shortly after the breakdown ended

i thought it was great
i haven't heard that song in like forever
then again it wasn't really overplayed at all here
just a bit in the clubs for like a month or so then it disappeared

anywho
what is your opinion on tracks that you would think are "dead"
all of a sudden appearing in the middle of a set?
(as long as it fit in terms of energy and flow)

I would say that Iio's Rapture is pretty dead at the moment and has
been for quite some time but I would go totally ing nuts if
someone dropped the Deep Dish remix of it, love that remix.
Love that tune too.

PPK - Resurrection is pretty dead too, cant see where It would fit in
tho, its pretty worn out.

i was thinking more along the lines of older tracks like kernkraft 400 and sandstorm

although i doubt i would ever be able to listen to sandstorm again
that was beat to

like give the song a year or so to rot then resurrect it
so if you never heard rapture for a year or so then all of a sudden you're at a rave or something and a dj drops it, what would your reaction be?

no one else has any more thoughts?

i was just asking cause i still have kernkraft 400 sitting around here someplace gathering dust

i was thinking about possibly dropping it in a set sometime
and wanted to know if generally it would be a welcome surprize or completely kill my set?
zarathustra
I was at Tribal Dance too Shockwav and I felt the same way.

In response to your last question, I don't think it would kill your set. Eventhough the song seems cheesy (particularly in Europe), it's not a bad song. I like it and it really pumped up the crowd.

end of a set...............

BT - Flaming June (Chicane Remix)

that wud be a total killer, very unexpected

its actually quite common for a DJ to slot in an oldie from time to time. It usually always goes down well. Altho if i heard Zombie Nation i would slap the DJ. But usually i love classics being brought back. Infact, for NYE we were lucky to get a whole night full of classics from the 99/2000 period, at Gatecrasher, as that was the theme for the night. Absoloutely amazing.

So yea.. most oldies would be a welcomed suprise, but not zombie nations, as thats just a ty commercial pop song :p

i didnt mind hearing tiesto drop Nalin & Kane - Open Your Eyes a couple months ago. the crowd def enjoyed too.
Vanilla
Airscape - L'esperanza

It's the song that really got me into trance and I've never heard anyone play it live.

i love to hear old tracks in sets. i always thought it would be better if djs dropped at least one or 2 during a long set. it brings back memories plus most people will know it. like i think someone said that johan dropped vengaboys - kiss (airscape remix) at glow last month. i would've totally ing died. i always think you gotta show respect to the older stuff... in any genre of music. you don't go to a U2 concert without hoping to hear 'with or without you' y or 'sunday bloody sunday' so why not the same thing with trance...?

Gotta agree with Mikey here. I would have to throw something at you. That song is commercial cheese crap at its finest. Ill tell you and aold song that would kill, a couple actually, Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness, Eisbear - Eisbaer. Killer tunes that would make me go nuts.
