I am using Nero to burn some live sets,,,,,but for some reason with my Nero i have to first convert the MP3 to WAV....which i do not mind at all.....
My question is this....my CDRs are 700MB but the WAV files are like 800 or 850 MB...how can a 700MB CDR burn a WAV that is 800/850MBs...thats OVER 100MB more then the CDR allows.....how is that possible?...
Am i losing any quality or parts of the set.....??
or is this normal. |

You must have an older version of Nero if you have to change to wav files. I can just make audio cds with my mp3 files and I use Nero as well.
I am not sure about your problem, but if anything I would look into nero's options, or get another Nero version. |

| quote: | | Audio data is stored on the disk in blocks, which are also sometimes called sectors. Each block holds 2,352 bytes of data, with an additional number of bytes used for error detection and correction, as well as control structures. Therefore, 75 blocks are required for each second of sound. On a standard 74-minute CD then, the total amount of storage is (2,352 * 75 * 74 * 60), which is 783,216,000 bytes or about 747 MB. |

Um.. just read this part again: "On a standard 74-minute CD then, the total amount of storage is (2,352 * 75 * 74 * 60), which is 783,216,000 bytes or about 747 MB"
So if it's a 80' CD, its capacity is (2,352 * 75 * 80 * 60), 846,720,000 bytes, about 826 MB.
So the biggest wav file you could burn in Audio CD format is 826 MB.
Note that it's only when we're talking about Audio CD's... For exapmle, Data CD's are a whole different story. |

Oh actually, an 80min cd is 700mb in size. So if the liveset is 80 mins it will have enough capacity for 80mins of wav. Regardless of size. Wot yr goin on about blah blah blahb 746mb, or woteva, the cd will tell u how big it is, 700mb = 80mins.
If the liveset or woteva is 80mins it will fit
End of story, if it isnt, it wont :D
Ahh its late, im waffling :p |
