heya all, anyone here use portable md players??
i'm planning on getting one soon (can't pass up the offer...like half-price!!)
i've definitely decided on md over mp3 players etc. because cost-wise it's definitely cheaper for storage space :D
but i'm thinking either the sony mzr-900 or the sharp mt-77 (also called mt-877). i've asked around on some of the minidisc places but just thought i'd see if people here had any experiece.
so, good/bad experiences using portable md's and mzr-900 or mt-77?? |

minidisc's RULE!!
i chose one over a mp3 player cos the discs are only $5 (Australian) and you can use a 3.5mm stereo cable to record mp3s onto you MD.. i have a mzr-70 and it's very nice... also get some good headphones like the street style fat ones that hook over your ears and around the back of your neck for better soundquality cos the headphones that come with MD's have no bass! |

ya, thx Lex!! i was leaning towards the sony, but seeing the sharp is newer....
anyway, prolly will get the sony 'cos the battery life is better & the remote should be compatible to my discman...i know the sharp uses a different style of plug :p |

Yes Sony is so much easier in usage and it sounds really really good. I have now regrets since a bought it. It cost me about 200 dollars, but there worth it.
It's quality. Digital sound rocks.

just a side note...
sony MD products screw up very easily...
that's just my experience...
i've had 2 MD players, both were sony and their sorta screwy... i personally love sony products, but for MD's... i would tell you to get the sharp/pioneer ones...
also...
if you plan to use better technology, you could try sony's new line of MD recorders... the MDLP recorders..
apparently you can record up to like 5hrs of music...
but quality goes down as a result, so my friend uses like the 3hr mode or something... not bad... |

| I don't know if Sony is not as good as you say. I must say my fathers remote control was after a month screwed. |

DO NOT buy a sony MD player..
sony's are overpriced, underquality, poor functionability, etc...
go with a Sharp, Denon, Panasonic or Kenwood..
