Is that a specific label? There are like a dozen records in there with the same cover...

Anyone know what it is?
trancearmada
my guess is they are all probably white labels with his productions or just other white labels and he bought new storage holders for them, of all the same color
big dave
the blue ones look well cool! if they are just ordinary sleeves then i aint seen them before!
Project T
its probably just covers sasha bought or had made so he could keep his white labels in good nick
MClarke
or acetate covers, from mastering plants? if he gets alot of acetates (which i think he will) he might get most of them from one plant, which would mean they will all come in the same cover with just the name hand written on the cover.... could be wrong tho
mantisnl
they look pretty neat..

but whats an "acetate"?

An acetate is like a white label but it runs out and is un-playable after like 30 plays. Ive seen one before, and they are in heavy !

When someone wants to release a brand new track, he makes a few acetate copies of it, and hands it out to some fellow DJ's, who in turn check whether the crowd likes the track.

It's ing expensive to press vinyl in only a few (let's say 5) copies, making acetates is cheaper. When a track isn't received al too well, you don't lose the investment of making vinyl copies.

Only two disadvantages: the weight and the fact they wear out so quickly..

they are sent out to big djs direct from the pressing plant, its a way of testing out the tune before they commit themselfs to making a dubpplate and the vinyl's. Its also a way of checking levels and finalising the tune, they cost about £50 to product each, so they are usually very rare. They smell nice 2 :P

m8 has a acetate's of Adagio For Strings, DT8 - Destination, Matt Darey - Fly Like An Angel.. think ill be stealing them :P

mantisnl
ah ok, thnx for explaining it 2 me:)
