I must make a soon decision between 2 vid cards.
either...

ATI Radeon 7500 128MB AGP4x

or

Nvidia Geforce (latest 64MB model)

BTW: I need the card for gaming performance mostly, with a Celeron 1.7 Ghz cpu, 256MB RAM.

If the choice is between the sucky nvidia 64 mb and the Rocking ATI... the choice is pretty simple...

Trust me,Radeon out performs Nvidia all the way. Try looking for benchmarks.they help.

how can u say this: Nvidia Geforce (latest 64MB model), when i own a 128meg version of the GeForce4 ?

I own the asus 128meg ddr gf4, and it absolutly rocks, but with only a 1.7 celeron, i dont think you'll get any noticeable difference in whichever card you buy. but obviously a 128meg over a 64 meg will be better, but a 128 meg gf4 vs. the radeon i cant help with, but i have a gf4 and its imense.

I've posted this elsewhere so i'll copy and paste this....enjoy!

Get a Radeon 9500 128mb (costs about 150 US)

go to www.guru3d.com/files and download the rivatuner 2.0 with soft 9700 and run it. It turns a ty 9500 into a full 256 bit Radeon 9700 thats worth about 250$ and s all over all Nvidia cards released at the moment. (obviously the Geforce FX isn't out yet)

Now thats good value!

Seems that ATI didn't have the resources to make all the different itinerations of the radeon so that particular card is a full radeon 9700 thats been cut down in software to 4 pipelines and 128bit in software so all u gotta do is free it

Read all about it here http://www.digit-life.com/articles2...700-dx9-p1.html

http://www.futuremark.com/community/halloffame/ - thats a list of a load of results from 3dmark 2001, remember that its all direct 3d based and benchmarks programaed with opengl may produce these results in a different order.

if you can wait a few months the new geeforce FX retails and from the look of it, it will kick arse, at least untill the competition releases something better...

I just bought myself an ATI Radeon 9700 today .. me this thing flies :D

10828 3D marks, and that's on an Athlon 1800XP, 256mb ram, with winamp running :)

Just wait for the GEFORCE FX next month which makes it the 400 to 500 dollar mark.. so if you got the money go buy but for the low budgeters the ATI Radeon 9700 128 is yours get the All in wonder if your into video editing.
