Dunno if its the original mix, but in oakenfold ess mix at creamfields 1999, which I am listening too right now, I just heard BT - mercury & solace, well if u listen carefully to it u will recognize that flight 643 from tiesto is badly ripped from this track, the guiding bassline on the background is exactly the melody in flight 643. Dunno if this has already been discussed somewhere, but I just noticed this one :)

Erm... no.

The only similarity is the (extremely common) dum-dum bass in Mercury & Solace and the opening "deng-deng" synth in Flight 643. And yes, I think they're in the same key.

In my books you're gonna need A LOT more than that to make it a ripoff. C'mon, let's face it - you do a synth/bass that has two (same) notes per beat. Not very hard to hit the same notes someone else hit before, is there? Besides, why compare a synth to a bassline?

(Tracks I compared: Mercury and Solace (Album Mix) vs. Flight 643 (Album Mix) )
