wdups people..i know alot of you hardcore trance fans love to come out for those special events...but for some reason it just doesnt ever seem enough. we are lookin to start a monthly trance party (dj tek and myself) somewhere in nyc...but not at any super clubs...im lookin for intimate small clubs that will let us do our thing and make our own following. i mean TA Night at exit all this stuff is cool but the choice of venues these days arent that great...im getting sick of roxy plus the amount of entrance fee and all the other junk.
im lookin to start this new following similar to what T3 has done and try and build it as large as possible. i mean i'd like to see an ongoing trend dedicated to the trance fans in nyc. all your suggestions and club plugs/connections would be greatly appreciated. i wanna hear from alot of you people. so throw out the suggestions..spam it all here |

my personal opinion man, (and i'm totally all for this), but NYC doesn't seem to be capable of supporting a pure trance night on its own. It just doesn't seem that there are enough people that understand and want a full night of trance. you probably will have to try to mix it with other genres of music, or find a small enough venue (and an understanding enough owner/manager) that will let you take over for a night.
as for venues, a friend last year tried to start a weekly at some bars in e. village, specifically a place called phase one. it had a little dj booth in the (very small) backroom, and the whole place had a capacity of maybe 30-50 people. it failed tho, cuz management didn't like the idea of a "mini-rave". :sadgreen: i suppose bars would be a lil' TOO small for a weekly, but i think some of them have potential. *shrug. my brother threw his farewell bash at another bar/lounge on 10th and Ave. A with 2 floors. the bottom floor was open to reserved party-type deals and could hold maybe 80 people. management was pretty cool with bringing your own djs and wut not too...that might work better...i'll ask him for the name again.
anyway, props to you and tek (as well as the exit duo) for trying to pick up the local scene. i'll try pass on any info that i can; i personally am getting a little tired of just clubbing to big trance djs (granted that it's been awesome there have been a GREAT number of them recently) but i would love a small weekly to go chill and kickback at without destroying my wallet. :)
hope this helped! but yea, you got my support dude. :D |

*bump*
well thanks for the plug binkun i would greatly appreciate all info you could provide man...considering the fact that many people wanna hit the decks we'd have to see how the first few tries go. we are lookin for that one club/venue in the city that will be our home. i am aware that victor has T3 at remote but from the reviews of remote the sound is pretty bad there. cabaret and liquor license a must i want to have that cheap cover hot party on that any given sunday feel...of course im not gonna throw them on sunday..lookin at thurs-sat preferrably a saturday.
as for the dj's im willing to give rightfully deserved spots to everyone. promotional support as well as everyones part in making this happen. i know alot of you may boarder the ethnic skeptism..but fear not..although i do have a large asian following i want to stray FAR FAR AWAY from asian gathering (although DRIZZT may say otherwise you damn horny schranzer) im lookin for that diverse crowd with great trance support. we will see how things prosper and hopefully everyone can have their fun. |

| I think it's a great idea but ya we would need someone who knows someone who owns a place that we could kinda take over. I guess a good thing to stress would be the business it could bring in as there aren't many consistent trance parties and I'm sure it could catch on if time was allowed. |

of course =) but we need help searching a club/venue. my ideal spot would be something similar to downtime or open air. with 18+ so thats why im callin out too all you people and your connections to try and see if u can find a spot for us to throw it. we have the funding and the following plus the music...so why not right? just want to make sure the crowd and club is quality. thoughts? comments? suggestions? opinions? throw'em out..i want an open discussion. |
