banning an IP address is a good idea
but . . .
if you access the internet via good old 56k modem and a phone line then your ip address is never the same
it changes every time you log on to the internet
only those with cable, T1, T3 ADSL retain their IP addresses
and even those can be changed !
plus even if the guy was on cable and had a static IP
all he has to do is use another pc
easy as that
i use about 7 different PC's to come here and post
my desktop PC at home, my laptop when i am out and about
and 4 different PC's i use at work
There is however a way to ban idiots like him
but it would need Swamper to do it
he needs to access the cache for this server
and get his IP's from all the different ID's he has used
they should fall with in a certain range
then get in contact with the Guys ISP and report him for abuse
the isp will then take steps to stop him by either banning his account or other measures
again this is not a permant fix cos u just sign up with another isp
but it's my experiance that there is only so many free ISP's in each state and soon if he was to persist
he would be banned from them all :) |
