This is probably a scam, but the idea sounds great! You invest $10 now, they put it in the bank and 500 years from now when/if it will be possible to travel in time, you will be transferred from our time to the future. During 500 years your 10$ will become billions(due to interest) and you'll live happily ever after.

What do you guys think?

Well, if you think that money will be the currency on 500 hundred years then you should go for it. Its sounds like a total scam, the only person making money will probably be the dude that runs the site.

what about inflation?

yeah sure, we all know you are behind this since you've got the Russian mafia behind you as well! ;) :D

So if they created this website "FROM THE FUTURE" why the hell can't they travel us back into the future now? And how the hell would they even know what you look like and where you live? Please it is so a scam.....

Typically, banks pay under 1.8% interest:

$10 * (1.018 ^ 500) ~ $75,000 (slightly under)

This is billions... how? Someone didn't pass economics. Sure, I wouldn't mind $75k right now, but in 500 years that'll be worthless.

That's not taking into account the more subtle question of time travel: if it were truly possible to travel from OUR future to OUR present, then it would already have happened, and the fact that we haven't seen any time travellers means either (a) time travel will never be possible in a linear sense - i.e. maybe we'll be able to travel to "a" past but not "our" past, or (b) time travellers have some rule preventing them from screwing around with the past, which means you'll never get to see that money anyway.

Bottom line here is, well, the bottom line. Creator of site wants to make money, and has decided to scam gullible people who don't intuitively understand economics.

Besides, think about it, if the person who came up with this idea seriously intended to pay people back in 500 years, he surely would have mentioned something about taking a cut of your future "billions" (thousands), otherwise what would be in it for him? The simplest answer is usually the best: scam.

this is one of the stupidest scams i've seen. one has to be incredibly stupid to fall for this crap.

lmfao.

HAHAHAHA i just saw the website!!!!

for a good laugh, go see it!

it would be hilarious to get one of their t-shirts : "future time traveler", "Official Member of The Time Travel Fund"

LOL imagine wearing that around! :haha: :haha:

Oh it's definitely a scam, no question about that.. But the whole idea I think is brilliant! Just imagine the possibilities... As far as "why time travellers are not here now".. Maybe they are not here now because future didn't happen yet? nobody knows how time travelling is going to work(if it's even possible)..

Banks pay that kind of interest if you only put in small sums of money.. but if that company has say 10,000 customers, that's already 100K, so they put in GICs which produce larger interest.. say 3-4%.. that will affect your savings tremendously !

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe this scam for a minute, I'm just admiring the creator of that website.. The idea is brilliant !

even if time travel is possible, it will be so dangerous that there will have to be some sort of international body regulating it anyway. so there goes "time travel fund" right out the window. you think that a petty commercial enterprise like that will be allowed?

well.... there ARE tourists going up to the ISS, so i actually wouldn't be surprised....lol :toothless

i'm against time travel, though. why go into the future, or past? why run away from the present?

the here and now is where we live in, and we should learn to live in the moment.. not to dream about the future, or the past. that's just running away from today, from reality - and is ultimately madness.

dEsidEL
now say ur 10 bucks does turn into billions in the future .. just like Trancearmada said, wut about inflation .. a bag of chips will prolly cost like $100,000 by then ! hahaha :p

if and whether these people are able to travel thru time, they're better off going into the PAST and buying stocks they know will go up or down .. haven't u seen TimeCop ?? haha i think that's a better idea then bringing someone into the future .. :D

Personally, if I could go back in time, I'd go back about 10 years and buy all the major Internet domains: sony.com, microsoft.com, ibm.com... hell, I'd be a trillionaire today, a lot of those corporations already paid billions to the smart people who got their hands on the domains first.
