Wash DC sucks.

I've come to the conclusion that clubs in DC are mostly crap except for two.. Buzz @ Nation for a rave atmosphere and Platinum for club atmosphere. I went to Pulse tonight just to check it out, and left after 30 mins.. Then got in line for Platinum :)
Here's my beef:

1. The factory-installed sound system in my car sounds better and louder than the speakers at Volt. What they hell were they thinking? If I can't feel the bass, I might as well go home. Thumbs up to Glow and Platinum for having good sound systems.
2. Ventilation and AC - Several people who have been to Glow have complained about its high temperature.. well you ain't seen nothing yet. Volt is like a steam bath.. Their idea of air conditioning is placing a few floor fans around the club. In other words, you can probably cook waffles in Volt.. It's like a toaster.
3. The people.. I feel sorry for those who came tonight and paid their $15. I wish they knew that Platinum was 5 times better and went there instead.
4. The dance floor itself sucks - 1/3rd of its width is taken up by a bar. Great idea for a layout.
5. The DJ - no offense, but even the lamest DJs know that their job is to make people dance. People deserve it.. You already got their money, at least make it worthwhile for them.. If no one is dancing, stop playing music and play something that people will enjoy.
During my short stay at Volt, the DJ played house music with layered beats that I could not dance to despite trying several times. If your music sounds like a bunch of drum loops layered over each other, you're screwing the crowd. I would much rather dance to NSync and Janet Jackson remixes than dance to this crappy electronic mess.

I'm guessing that most people who came to Volt weren't expecting this.. or they would go somewhere else. There are two other clubs within 100 feet of The Volt's entrance. There is no excuse for enduring ty house music.
So, to summarize, Pulse/Volt sucks. Maybe if the music was better, there were more people (there was enough room for almost 3 times more people that came tonight), and the DJ didn't suck, I'd go there occasionally. Instead, I just waltzed out and got into Platinum instead, after waiting two minutes in line.
On the plus side, when I was getting into Volt, I tried to pay the $15 admission fee with a $20 bill. For some reason, the woman gave me $5 in change.. then returned my $20. Uhh. Ok. I got free admission AND $5.. I still don't understand how that happened :)

| I told u Wash DC sucks, nothing is good here. Avoid it at all cost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DC is too small to do any party or clubs. |

2.000.000 ppl and just ONE real afterhour club to party on sundayz and this single one is a joke to me!!!
and on Saturdays many parties where u pay bout 15 USD for 5 DJs were just one is good and see ppl totally pumped full with drugs not able to dance anymore and things like that!!!

Did you see the line up last nite??
Dieselboy,Ak1200 and Dara all on the SAME NITE?? that place was rocking man.. i still don't understand why they were put in the front room and not the main room... adam freeland was spinning in the main room, not that bad but im not a big fan of breakbeats..
once you goto buzz, you're view of DC Nightlife will totally change. It's probobly one of the BIGGEST venues around the whole east coast...

| Right, like I said.. Either Nations or Platinum. Everything else sucks.. the only other place I've heard favorable reviews of is Red. I'm not a huge fan of house music, but if it's good, I still enjoy it. |

actually i dont know a single one of them but thats coz i´m from Austria i think!!;)
But this Weekend was Lexy & K-Paul in Vienna and i heard that this Event either sucked coz music was no good!!
Always when famous DJs are here they play there worsest set!:mad:

that was my point... there isnt a remotely cool club in reading (closest city to me)... philly is like 2 hours away... and theres only like 1 decent club there... and the residents usually spin breaks so i cant dance argh... and yea try getting with a chick when you tell her that you live 2 hours away lol... |
