why keyboardversion....if your'e moving to hardware you will want to go with a masterkeyboard in the end anyway...simpler that way :)

anyway I forgot to mention....Rank 1 uses the jp synth very often 2 :D and it's defenetly gonna be my first hw synth :)

I think ebay can be an ok place to do buisiness as long as you take extreme precautions, something I guess I didn't.

Peace

A JP-8000? :D
U might be able to find a Roland JV-1080 or a Novation K-Station (just found one for 450 Euro)

No idea! :D

I guess I have to hook it up to the midi port and connect the Audio outputs to my Line-in input.
Play some notes in the PianoRoll, press play and record the JP playing the melody in to CoolEdit.
Then import the melody into fruity or something...

If that don't work I guess I have to sample the sounds I want to use. Or switch to Cubase or Logic.

the only reason i didnt buy a jp 8000 as one of my first synths is the very limited polyphony on it, and its only two part multi-timbral. similar spec as a nord lead. after owning my nova for a few months i got to be quite disappointed with a lot of aspects to it. the phazer is , and its pretty crap at pads too. the access virus is the best all rounder in terms of features and sound.....but the sound prize goes to the nord modular everytime...this thing just sounds spot on like all nord gear....my signiture lead/pad is off that baby...i wouldnt be without it

nah....itll run alongside fruity quite happy..just plug the l/r out puts into your card like u said

(and if u switch to logic i guarantee you tunes will improve immensly...the features in it are mind blowing)

About the JP8000, it has to be a great synth b/c so many great producers use it. But be prepared for some quirks, I have heard for instance if you set the attack to 0 it will click on Note On, but you can always change the attack to 1 or 2. This I heard from Manual Schleis, creator of some pretty wicked Virus presets. Good luck.

i think that kinda thing is cool cos it gives it that analogue style quirkiness....always a good ting!!!:tongue3

I have 2! JD-800 (can u say redundancy?) - I love'em to death... The keys are kind of flimsy, but I use XP60 as master, so I could care less. I got a hell of a deal on a bundle: (eat your hearts out)::D

Access Virus A (with rack ears)+ JD 800 in a ABSOLUTE MINT condition for $1000 including shipping.

One thing I absolutely hate about roland:
THEIR ING MANUALS SUCK!!! I have a headache everytime I read one. Plan on reading 2 pages a day at most. Any more than that and you'll be suffering from permanent migrane.

the thing that sucks about roland manuals is they are written like engineering manuals for putting the damn thing together... Access has the best manuals by far.

I also have Novation Supernova II -24voice and XP60 (as mentioned before).

When I hook all these bad boys up and start playing my jaw drops to the floor and I cream my pants... (well almost) :D

Anyway - I was mucking around with XP60 sequencer, recorded some "etude" as I like to call my practice runs and ran it through AV and SNII with JD sweeper pads WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW PHAAAAAT....!!! the arpegios from AV just kick ass.. and to think that I didn't like AV the first time I bought it (ended up selling it on e-bay).

Anyway , my opinion on JP-8000 is it's a great synth, but number of voices is actually very low! 8 voice polyphony???????? WHAAAAAAAAAA?:wtf: and u get 10 on 8080 but have to sacrifice 6U on a rack????? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA????? :wtf: That was my unease with it. I'll still end up getting it tho, for it's warm "juno"/"jupe" sort of sound.. but nothing NOTHING would overshawdow JUPITER8.

If Roland re-released Jupiter 8, but with modern updates... MAAAANNN I would have sold my car to get it. :D I hope that they have something to announce on NAMM - such as "Back by popular demand, this time with 32 Oscilators, 64Voice, MIDI and ADAT equiped - the one, the only, the LEGEND.......... JUPITER 8X - TranceAddict Limited Edition"

Ok, I think I should stop day dreaming now and get back to my salt mines. Ok luv... hugz... either way - you'll be pleased :toothless

BTW:

Something from Sonic State (fresh interview with BT):

SS: Obviously we’re all interested in your current setup. If your complete gear list is too much, perhaps you could outline your particular favourites and why? I’d be very interested to know your thoughts on any VST instruments and/or plug-ins you find indispensable and likewise any hardware synths.
BT: G4 running pro tools 24-bit (not –ProTools|HD), Kyma, boatloads of soft synths and plug-ins. That's the basics of what I work with. I hardly use hardware keyboards anymore, but the ones I do use are the arp-2600, Jp8000 and the Virus C.

One notable quote: "[The JP-8000], it's the coolest thing that Roland has ever made, in my opinion."
