okay, i got my phone bill today from rogers, and i look at it...


$ 141.47 !!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!! :eyespop: :eyespop: :whip: :whip: :whip:

then i passed out. i woke up 10 min later, and passed out again.

this is ing crazy, how can they charge so much for airtime!? i was under the impression that i had 1000 weeknight/weekend minutes, but it says i only have 100 weekday/night and unlimited weekends, so wtf!! and it says i answered a call on xmas that lasted 2 hours!!!! i don't even remember this bull!!

this is pissing me off huge... eating into my party fund huge! i'm going to call and ream them out for this, see if i can get a break on it or something.

any of you had anything similar to this happen to you? a phone bill this huge, jesus, first time it's ever happened to me, and hopefully the last!

Ouch! I have a Fido plan with 150 weekday and 1000 weeknight/weekday minutes, and it's always been fine. Do you have a copy of your original signup form? It should have your plan details on it...

141$ for your cell phone?!. that is a lot of money !
Well i pay on avg my regular phone(bell) line bill to avg 150$, so it isnt that bad also....

first of read the fine print, I sell Rogers cell phones as I work for Rogers Video a part of the entire Rogers family. call *811 (it's a free call you don't get charged for it) and ask to talk to a rep. check your bill again and all the calls that were made, were you anywhere close to the lake Ontario when you called? If yes it is possible that your signal was picked up in Buffalo, and you are being charged roaming fees. Tell them to look over the bill and they will see that you did not travel to US and those fees will be waived.

Next step go on a "business self adjusting plan", meaning that the time on your cell will self adjust to the cheapest possible $ amount as you use up more or less minutes. Just talk to the rep and tell them you want to switch over. They should be able to help you switch over to a better plan if you don't wanna go with the "business self adjusting plan". And don't use your phone on weekdays as much. I have the exact same plan as you and my bill on average is $35-45 but I get discount and what not.

Also I am not trying to defend Rogers or anything but it's your own fault you did not understand the contract properly. Any other providers would have screwed you the same exact way. I am sure they will give you some sort of a break. How long is your contract for? Year? 2 years? monthly?

I can try and help you out just give me more details. It would be a lot easier if I could see the bill in front of me than I could probably help you out more.

My g/f got bill $800 bucks for Rogers High Speed Internet, that when that was time to pass out. LOL, she had charges for the modem for a year(as u know modem comes in free) and extra chgarges for running a network at home. Well, i had to call and fight big time. THIS IS ROGERS. I use Bell for my ce4llphone, never had any problems. Actually had one, Bell representetiver called mand asked if i had any problems, i saud that i don't use mobile internet browser for which i was charged 5 bucks a month, she said ok and hang up. On my next bill i got a statement:MObile Browser -5.00. LOVED IT. Never had to fight, or even call them, they call me every nonth and ask if i have a problem. Bell, way to go.

yeah, i realized what happened. i called in before christmas to switch to the max air plan, and figured it would be switched right away. little did i know that they switch it next billing date (of course they do, or else it would get made complicated.) i switched early december, and thinking i was on that, proceeded to rack up the time. if i was on that plan, it would've been mebbe 40, but now it's almost 4 times as much.

me = stupid. :sadgreen:

I get this type of thing a lot, but it's from extra bandwidth charges on Bell Sympatico Highspeed. @^#*&%$ 5 gig limits, I download 5 gigs in a day not a month.

btw, thanks for the offer of help trancearmada, but you're right, it was my own stupidity :mad: and do you still have those vinyls i wanted? i totally forgot about them, haha :p

as soon as sympatico made this announcment i promptley announced to them that "this was a ing rip off" and " this im going to another company". right now i have ADSL 3.0 mbit for $75/mo and its unlimited access.

the rep asked "may i ask what company you are switching to?" i replied "no you may not!" :haha:
