The Year You Become a Tranceaddict ? (pg. 2)

I have a pretty easy answer to that - Robert Miles - Children was heard everywhere. It's like Sandstorm today, it got a lot of people hooked on this kind of music. If you heard any form of trance, chances were, you heard Children.

I hope that in a year or two, we'll have a huge influx of "mainstream dance music-turned-trance" fans who got into it by listening to the huge club hits that are being played today. Too many to list, but you know what I'm talking about.

After all, we didn't all like trance from the beginning.. You have to start somehow, and if massive club hits by Fragma, Alice Deejay, ATC and Darude can help, more power to them. I remember reading a post in an older thread about "people not being able to jump in directly into Paul Van Dyk or Tiesto.. you have to start out slowly, get into more mainstream things like Planet Perfecto, and so on. Then you graduate to real trance."

I have to say that I agree with that.

I agree with you too ...

hmmmm that drags my memory back several years. There used to be some dance stuff one night a week on this radio station that i would tune into religiously for about year or so but then so forgot about it.

I only really got into trance in about 99 after listening to my sister's trancemaster (dunno which one it even was)

Visions Of Shiva "Perfect Day" and Airscape "Cruising" in 1993 got me started when I was just 12!

I started listening to club music i 95' but none of the mainstream then was trance so it wasnt until late 98' that i realised how good it was. Spring 99 i bought Pete Tong's Essential Selection and with tracks like Quake - Mantra and System F - Out of the Blue how could i resist the power that trance posseses
Mark
System F - Out of the Blue
Ayla - Ayla
Robert Miles - Children

heard these tunes in 99 and was hooked on trance since then.

I think it was late 1998 when I finally got my first computer and started using Napster. I found some Antiloop and liked it, then I found some early DJ Tiesto stuff and have been hooked since.

Well...i being from MN, i had never had much exposure to trance...i liked rock. then i met a couple of guys, from czech republic and germany, and they freed my mind...that must have been 2 years ago. Now i am hopelessly hooked.

Being from the USA like the post previous, we don't get much trance around here. Before I was hooked I was into rock then hip hop. Then I heard a track off Tranceport 1, and that kicked it off, ever since 1999.

i first listened to trance when a friend of mine played atb-till i come for me..i didn't like it at first but then in a month i started downloading atb and ayla and then it just started.

Yeah I think 98/99 were great for trance... It's still going strong now, but those were my favourite because that's when I really became addicted to this music...

And I gotta say this site has kept it alive for me.. I mean u dunno how much I learn from u peez, all of you bring diverse tastes and knowledge, and Swamper cuz I never seen vedios to those great tunez or heard the livesets done in other countries by djs I don't have a chance to see...
