Hey, ive never mixed two tunes together in my life, havnt got the slightest clue how to either, but ive been saving up to buy some decks and maybe some lessons, coz i dont know anyone who could teach me.
Just wondering if anyone knows what i should do with the money?
i wanna get a decent pair of decks and all the equipment for a beginer and maybe some lessons if their worth it.
ive got Ģ2000 to spend,
i dont even know whether that would be enough.
plz give me sum suggestions.
cheers.

2x Technics SL-1200 Limited Edition 9 carat gold modified with SL-1210 MKVI components

Dateq GPM8.3 8 channel mixer with triple inputs (13x line/ 3x phono/ 8x mic), three way tone control, dual master fader
:D
ok, but serious: start of with a set of second had Technics sl-1200 with a cheap mixer with 3 way equalizer, or but a set of new (budget) Soundlab or Vertex direct drive turntables.
Don't spend to much, first find out if you really like mixing! |

this is indeed true! I advise you to first download traktor or something and try mixing some MP3s (or visit a friend of yours that has decks)... and visit http://www.recess.co.uk to know some DJing theory. I've been mixing on Traktor for over a year now, and I bought my DJ equipment this X-mas, and the transition to "the real thing" was easier than I thought! It's better for you to be sure that you like this before you spend loads of money in it. This can be frustrating at first, but with time and PRACTICE you'll get the hang of it!
Oh and as for the lessons, try learning by yourself, creating your own style, that works for you, is much much better and you'll be much more knowledgeable!
Good luck! :) |

| Jesus, that's about 4400$ canadian :) Buy a pair of midrange decks and a mixer used, if after a while you find you like djing etc then spend the money on a pair of 1200's and a nice mixer. Then the rest of your cash can go to building a record collection, headphones, speakers, amp etc later on. Start small though, you might find you don't like it or just don't want to put in the time and effort. If that happens you'll be very happy you didn't blow the whole load right away on amazing gear. |

I gotta agree with Psychonoise. I bought Gemini turntables and a Gemini BPM-250 mixer at first and I have lost so much $$$$! Technics 1200 mk2 or m3d and pioneer djm-500/600 are like "HONDAS" they have so high resale value. (Atleast here in the US) Anyway, now I have two used 1200 mk2s and a brand new DJM-500. I have lost about $500 USD.
