| Hey, im coming down to montreal on the last thursday of january, i want to check out the afterhours scene in montreal. So far the only event i see is Sona on Friday night. Question: can you get tickets at the door of Sona? what is sona like? dresscode? drinks? how about drug use? what are the people like compared to say, the Guv in toronto. any better things i should check out? i had my heart set on Aria, but there is nothing lined up, the weekend in between J00F and Corsten :( im staying at mcgill upper res. ie at the top of university st. is sona walking distance from there? what do you recommend for a thursday night and for saturday. not only afterhours, but regular clubs too. thx.:) :) |

Doesn't lool like there are too many Sona fans on this forum and for good reason. they havent' had anything good since June 2001 and that was for PVD.
Its sole purpose is to cater to cracked out kids and that's it, so they don't care for good dj's anymore.
Judge Jules unfortunately mad an appearence there a month ago and Dave Seaman never showed in the fall

Dude, Sona is not for cracked out kids, those are at every club.
Sona is more about the local Montreal scene, which has a strong following. Sona avoids competing for bookings with Aria and save money by catering to local talent while still filling their club...i understand their business model. That being said, i haven't gone to Sona since I started going to Aria because i live out of town and come in for the names and Aria's got them! |

| i think the reason why no one answered is because he touched the drug use question, while this being a music board. |
