Twilo Closed Down!

New York superclub Twilo has been closed down by the Department Of Buildings and New York Police Department for not having the correct permits. Police entered the club in the early hours of Sunday 6th May to serve the order, which claims it had done interior work without proper permits, which in turn voided the Twilo’s certificate of occupancy. Around 400 clubbers were present during the police raid. All co-operated fully when asked to leave the club.
Timo Maas told Twilo's relationship with the City of New York has never been perfect and it was only a matter of time before something rash was going to happen. I hope that the problems get resolved soon as it is a very unique place to play, and it'll be interesting to see how this affects New York's other clubs'' |

| This is another reason why the US isn't that big on trance...damn permits and fire hazard things causing every party that goes on to be shut down. |

My friend called me at 3 am last sat to tell me the terrible news. I'm devasted...my life is ovah. :( They got shut down for fire & occupancy violations. We are all writing letters to the newspapers to give our side of the story. Guilani wants to shut down all of the clubs, prohibit smoking in bars, basically turn NYC into a Disney Utopia.
The Court Date is set for June 21st...rumour has it that they will reopen next wk. |

Having been a Twilo regular before myself all I can say is that Guiliani is a ing twat !!!! He just needs some bull excuse to shut down what is undoubtly the best club in NY, if not the US. I remeber the time when a kid died in Twilo during PVD and they threatened to shut down the place....now when I found out about this I was quite shocked cause the inital reports were that the kid died of X and that Twilo had a big drug problem. Later on they found out that the kid had taken a huge dose of GHB and not X. Anyway the point is that Mayor Guiliani is waiting for a reason to close down Twilo but it won't happen, cause Twilo is too big a club.
They should close down the other ter clubs in NY like Sound Factory or Tunnel...these places are filled with crackheads and are more of a fire hazard then Twilo.

| OOhh my god i was soo annoyed when i heard this. Twilo is one of the best clubs here, perhaps in USA......as mentioned previously......well i hope it does come up soon....PVD is suppose to come down on the 8th ....ahhh!!! cant wait....lol...later..take care people.... |

| Twilo is the best club in the U.S period. The kid that died at PVD 7-21-00 was a medical student. The media left out that he was 300 pounds, suffered dehyration & heat exhaustion. There is drugs at EVERY club, but twilo doesn't search hard enuff. They have a metal detector at the door. There's never been any shootings, stabbings, or fights. I've been goin for the last 4 years. There has been od's/deaths at sound factory, tunnel, & limelight as well. Twilo is under scruntiny cause they have a private ambulance outside at all times & cause a bouncer threw some unconcious kids in a closet. |
