Judge Jules & JFK @ The Met Arena (18th Jan)

The night started off with The Met resident Chris Davis. His set was very housey and funky as he was to later finish the evening. This guy has to be up there for the top resident in Ireland, he knows exactly what the crowd wants to hear! When he played some classical song (which he always plays at the Met before he steps up a gear), and the crowd on the dance floor all lie down, and the lights came down from the roof, it really was a site! Quality!!
After Chris' opening chilled out set JF(at)K came on.
Having never heard JFK live in all my years of clubbing and haven’t read anyone who had, I was really looking forward to hearing him. I was expecting a nice little hard house set taking into consideration his top club anthem 'JFK - Good God', but was I wrong!
First tune of the night, none other than 'GTR - Minstral'. Is that REALLY JFK or a fat Armin ? :0 'Delerium - Silence (don't know remix)', 'Underworld - Born Slippy (New Remix)', 'Marco V - Nothing But You (Paul Van Dyk Remix)', 'Marco V - Indicator' and the one and only 'JFK - Good God' :D. There where other tunes which Armin, Ferry & Tiesto frequently play but their names pas me at the minute. How can the judge match up to that? The answer...HE CAN'T !!! :p
Jules came on into a packed Met Arena with his muscle top and crap looking tattoo [V], not forgetting his trademark glasses! First thing he does is his usual (we all getting tired of this now) hand actions. Gets into the mix and plays 'Tomcraft - Loneliness'. Now this is a great TUNE but Mr. Jules decides to stop it to make MORE bloody hand jesters "Booooo". Some fcuked up scratching later he restarts it. [:(!] Jules banged out tunes he plays on his Radio 1 show: 'Hi Gate - Hurricane', 'Human Evolution - Project Magneta', 'Don Diablo - Acceleration (Svenson & Gielen Remix)', 'Plummet - Damaged' and not forgetting the Irish favourite of 'DJ Elite - That Fcut Camera (Hi Gate Remix). Some guy said to me, "Do you know what that track is?" I told him I did to his reply of, "Well bet you don't have it!! I got it on promo for £9". I had to tell him I did have it and paid a nice little £6 for it! Jules did play some banging tunes but his attempts at scratching, his constant hand gestures and most annoying of all his stopping of the tune in the middle really pissed me and a lot of other people off! He should leave the scratching to the professionals, for example Chris Davis !
Chris came on for the last hour and we knew we'd be in for a treat. He didn’t disappoint. His scratching was of the highest order and his tune selection of Hard House, Hard Trance & a little bit of Tech-Trance all made it a superb set. 'Mauro Picotto - Bangkok' was the only tune I can put a name to but Fergie spins a lot of them in his sets. His "We want won more!" tune was unbelievable! I was reminiscing about this tune on the Friday and it was played: 'Hennes & Cold - The Second Trip (DJ Scott Project Remix)'. MARVELLOUS !.
All in all it was one of the best nights at a club I've been too except for Jules' annoying things! JFK = man of the night. If you get a chance to see him play, take it up!

I dont understand people who dont like a dj, but go along, dont like wot they here and then slag them.
I dont like a lot of djs, so i dont listen to them.

"Is that REALLY JFK or a fat Armin "
:haha:
coup to be fair he probably has no structure to hsi set if he jsut bangs them out, then again u can argue against the case of Az thats he always pleases the crowd.
but then again if he played sammy, he is a big cheese devouring nobber! |

Hey mate,
Im only a new user of mpfreescene.com but i was pretty amazed to see on the homepage a comment about a remix of silence - delerium by 'fear force' which had gained the attention of jfk. I was at this night last night at the met arena in armagh, northern ireland. jfk dropped the tune and i can sincerely say the place erupted. i hadnt a clue what the remix was, nor my friends yet we love the tune and thought we were aware of all the remixes. We looked at eachother in amazement at such a quality remix. The place went mental too, its just sumthing you have to experience. its quite strange then thati should come onto your site and see an article about the very tune and in fact the very plans to play it. Just for the record the night was amazin and JFK blew the crowd and the judge away.
