Installing 2 Soundblaster Live 5.1, but conflict???

Ok the main reason I am trying to install 2 soundblasters live! 5.1 is for mp3 mixing (no more stupid comments on this), as you know if you use one for dual output it will split your front and rear which won't be good for recording or whatever...
Anyway the problem is when I install the 2nd card onto my mobo Asus P4B533 and load up the system it gives me blue screen on XP and boots up again forever... I tried the IRQ stuff and the PnP OS disable and still does the same thing, either I am not doing it right or there is another solution. If someone of you tried before can you elaborate on how the solution could be.

I think its down to the fact that it instals the same drivers for both. So gets massive conflicts when u try and use 2 of the same cards at the same time, as its tryin to do 2 things using one driver. Does that make sense?
So i am not sure how u could fix this problem, coz it is just a conflict that u will get.
The only sollution which i cna think of is using another soundcard of a different make, so u wouldnt get the driver conflicts.
Or contact creative and ask them if u cna run 2 in parallel, they have a very helpful online customer service section. Helped me a lot with my mp3 player.
So i would send them an email and ask. They should reply within a few working days :D |
