Makes sense to call it Systems since it's (System S)oundbar.

Ok...i didn't have the time to read the whole thread, but whenever I refer to this club, it's usually "Systems", with the alternative being "System Soundbar". Never "System". :stongue:

:D
Slag
Obviously it's System.

That Systems 'oundbar' is :conf:. Makes no sense at all.

Let's just say it's a term of endearment...

I call it System Soundbar, or Systems. Actually it just seemed to be the natural flow. Somethings just work I guess.

Cheers,
Fats

Hey Patch :D

Well, I always say that "I'm going to Systems." Maybe it's just me, but it makes sense. I guess it's all a matter of preference.

Linguistically speaking, the 's' on the end has no place there.

It's gramatically incorrect, and probably an offshoot of people referring to an aspect of System in the possessive sense (ie. System's VIP room).

All it took was a few people making the misinterpretation, subsequently misusing the word, and then things likely snowballed, and became axiomatic with time.

You will always see misuse of the apostraphe-s morpheme on even big store signs and whatnot. I think this could also be an example of a weak understanding of the apostraphe-s morpheme, except the result is the same grammatical error in reverse.
