sup peeps. i got this program (v1.1.2) like 3 weeks ago. ive been ing around with the options and i understand most of them. but one thing that is giving me a headache is the cue option with loops and . how do u use that? what is 1-bar loop, 2-bar lop and 4- bar loop? also when u click on = button u can set user defineable loops like 1/4 beat 1/8 beat etcc. also what do i do with bpm dailog box to set up the temp. basically, how do i implement all this stuff into my transitions? i used the sync option but its so in crappy when u for example what to mix in progressive breaks with a progressive 4/4 tune. the beats go all crazy and out of position, it really sounds ugly. so can someone please explain how i can use this in my manual mixing cuz auto is . please i need a quick respone. phanx

I've used Traktor for quite a while, but quit it because I got myself some real decks :D

But anyway... 1 bar = 16 beats, 2 bars = 32 beats, 4 bars = 64 beats (so when pressing that, on the starting beat of a bar of course, otherwise it'll sound like ) you press this button, and the file loops for the amount of beats selected. Pretty useful when mixing in tracks with an intro with just a few bars with beats..

The BPM dialog box (if it is what I think it is) is pretty much useless.. Just beatmatch your songs with the pitch slider, or maybe even the f*cking auto-beatmatch button.. That's the best way imo.

And mixing 3/4 with 4/4 doesn't work that well with Traktor indeed, the program gets a bit confused when mixing non-4/4-tracks..

I hate to break it to you, but I haven't found a single decent VTT software package on the PC.

yeah most of the software is horrible. i tried using traktor to make mix cd's for my car since 2001 and now i realize it is not good enough. especially if you are really picky about being perfect about your mixing. the software cannot hold 2 tracks beatmatched to save its life. sometimes the bpm even changes dramatcially (142bpm --> 86bpm) on me. plus the filters are . you take out all low frequencies and you still hear beats/bass in there. all that and the delay or latency with the mouse/keyboard just make things like way worse. :whip:

Technics SL1200M3D's.. the perfect thing for mixing breaks and 4/4 :D i do it often!

stop trying to use the autobeatmatch *JUNK* and you can mix anything you like, assuming you have the ear to properly beatmatch breaks with 4/4.

Mixing breaks into 4/4 is actually easy, once you get an ear for it... as long as the breaks are fast enough to keep up with the 4/4, sometimes I find breaks are too slow to mix into 4/4.

then again the 4/4 I spin is usually almost 150bpm.. :D

If you want a good PC mixing program, check out atomixmp3 (www.atomixmp3.com) - *excellent* program to start with, the visual beat display makes it really easy to figure out whats really going on... this really helps when your ears cant tell you whats going on, and helps you train your ears to realize the position of beats.

lmao. well if ill learn the basics on traktor ill get some wheels soon.:happy2: :happy2: anyway thx for the input guys. i already figured traktor out. it took me long to uderstand how to get the beats in posituon manually but i know how. mixes r quite flawless on it if u know how to do it properly. mixing is so in addictive i tell ya.

Lol.. I remember my Traktor days.... in order to train my ears, I would open up another program and set it to "always on top", then cover up the BPM stuff on the Traktor screen.

Or even worse, I'd tape a piece of paper over it (on the monitor), so I didn't rely on it... :haha: lol good ol' days...
