hmm some of you guys are talking Armin might turn some progressive tracks in this set. Maybe you're right, but 1 or 2 years ago I read an interview with AVB. He said that he'd never change his style of music. It was hard to believe at the time, but when I look back now, Armins style of today is pretty much the same as it was a few years ago. Just slightly different... I'm not saying he won't play any progressive tracks though! just telling you what he said 1-2 years ago.
(interview could have been on i-vibes, not sure though...) |

and with the essential mix, you know he'll play what HE wants :D |
heh. so true unfortuntely :( Radio 1 does it to the best of them, like Marco V for instance, and Fergie etc... With the exceptions of PvD (since that werent an official studio set) and Job O Bir as well.. |

You know, now that I think more about it, PvD's EM wasn't proggy at all. Hopefully Armin plays with the same attitude. The way I look at things, when Tiesto started to bang progressive, it was good progressive, same goes with Armin. Oakey has been banging progressive for the longest time and has still been on top even though hes not a 100% trance DJ; why??? Because he throws down great progressive. These guys play the better side of progressive as opposed to sasha and digweed with their boring sets. OF course, these are all my OPINIONS!!;)
peace,

| I don't think Marco was pressured into playing prog.Besides, those tunes Marco played in the beginning does not fit my definition of prog, either. It's just the same dirty, techy sound that Marco usually has, only slower and funkier.IMO the E-Mix was just a good opportunity for Marco to show that he is versatile, and is able to play something else than the usual trance/techno sound the crowd demands from him. |

He has to if he has any interest on being #1 this year. And more so b/c this is Radio 1. |
The only reason why armin reached #5 this year was because he stuck to TRANCE and didnt change to prog or techno. He wont get #1 by changing to prog or techno.
