I just got the bad news from Arturo. Talla spun for about 2 hours, played 10 good tracks and cannot properly mix. But he did play one track that made Arturo die! Gtr ~ Mistral
I cant wait till he comes to Ny :toothless |

| Yeah, I always knew that Talla couldn't mix that well - I didn't really notice when I saw him live - I actually do remember him doing a great mix at one point...But after listening to some of his livesets, you can totally tell that some of the mixes are just done poorly. Well, hopfully he'll give New York a better show :D |

damn :( everyone seems to dislike talla. It's nice you have your opinions, but picture someone going, oh, PvD sucks(asides from that being totally untrue)
Yes, Mr. Tomalla isn't exactly a "mixologist" like Paul o Edgar or even George, but you do have to give the man credit, he is a GREAT producer, i.e. World in My Eyes, Come with me, Can you feel the silence, etc etc, and let's not forget his remixes. I've seen so far Acosta's The Reaper other remix labeled as being Talla. If so, IMO, he really blew off on that. How many people can say, oh, yes, I was part of Technoclub back in the 80's :D
It's not everyday you get to see such an influential person in the electronic music world play. I personally enjoyed having the chance to see him again(Level at the GA Bday bash and a week later in Club Babylon, in PR)
opinions, everyone's entitled to them, it's just not overdoing it. You don't like the man, but think of the people that do. Ah, and he played at Spin, not Space :D

now that u guys mention it...
I found a couple of live sets that i once downloaded a while back, when i didnt really know who talla was, and i did notice even back then that his mixing was pretty bad (beatmatching and with fitting tunes together), in comparisons to a regular dj, even one that is not famous.
The only thing that makes sense is that he gets booked for popularity do to producing.
And NO, i have nothing against Talla, he is a good producer, but it does not mean that he can throw a great party and tear up a crowd. |

Leave the Djing to the dj's. If a man can not Dj ie ~~~ Create an atmosphere and take you into his landscape what is the point? This thread is not about Talla the producer... And he is a sick producer :eyespop: :eyespop:
.... side note I will be seeing him at arc on v day :) |

| the best of TALLA2xcl I've seen, was @ Ultra 3 @ the gatecrasher tent.. fantastic !!!!!!!! sux to know that he didnt reach many of the expectations. Im sure I would probably feel the same way, but hey, I didnt get to see him .. so I guess that all that counts here is that he rocked GC @ Ultra 3 :D |
