| When web servers run out of space, they start deleting the newest posts to make more space. I think that is what has happened. |

| Wouldn't they delete the old ones?... how strange. |

Nup, it deletes the newest ones. Essentially because it can't write them onto the server. Trust me, my college flatmate owns and runs http://www.avsim.com/projectairbus/ which is an abosolutely enormous forum (just about every single post has images too) and one day his server ran out of space and it started deleting every thread that people posted in.
Fortunately, like all good webmeisters, he backs up his site every second day. |

| Images dont mean tho cos they're all hosted off-site. If the new posts are the ones to be deleted, how come we're seeing each others posts and the hundred others that are popping up every hour? |

Obviously these posts aren't being deleted because there is enough space on the server...
Remember last night the forum was done for 6+ hours? I'd say swamper was putting in a new harddrive and configuring it or something.... |
