this has been one of my all time favorite songs since trainspotting came out...i decided to look up the lyrics today because ive been making up my own for the past few years...so can some one explain to me what the hell is going on here ... im absolutely lost.

yeah underworld were just in sydney last wednesday and i went to see them and they went off !! when they played born slippy the crowd went crazy .... the only lyrics i knew were "Shoutin lager lager lager lager " and i was screaming it ... bit hard to remember the whole thing ...but wat an awesome track , its one of my all time favourites
i also love Two Months Off by underworld ...although i wish emerson was still there |

Apparently the lyrics are real snippets from people's conversations. I remember an interview with Underworld where they were asked about these lyrics and they said they went down into some city (NYC I think...?) where they noted parts of peoples' conversations as they walked...
So, next time you're struttin' your stuff in a city, there might be some strange, deranged man following you with a notepad! :nervous:

Actually the Born Slippy lyrics were written by Karl from Underworld as he was stumbling home from a pub one night. He basically intended that the randomness of it would reflect the way your memory of a drinking session becomes completely fragmented. It was written more as a cry for help from an alcoholic than the beer anthem it has become...
Another interesting point - the title "Born Slippy" was taken from a greyhound form guide :D |

I love underworld lyrics, I got all the albums. I love their originality.
Best one has to be in 'little speaker' off the 1oo days off album. Its a women speaking about how she is small. my fav' bit goes 'But I do........I do feel like I'm still growing sometimes.........If I stand up really straight I'm like............ing hell I didnt used to be that tall........'

Underworld are class. Everything they have done is great. Every album is a masterpiece.
The lyrics are brilliant. Random bollocks that doesnt sound out of place.
