hey guys i need some help....
Im on my laptop right now, none of my programs that has the extension of .exe seems to open up and a error message of this comes up....
"Windows cannot find 'C:Program Files....exe'. You may have typed the name incorrectly in th Run dialog, or another open program cannot find a system file. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."
I already tried rebooting, opening the files from different locations, moving them, almost eveything of common knowledge but didnt work. I dont want to reformat my computer either because i cant even use my cd burner to back up my programs. So basically i cant use anything on my computer, i managed to make my norton virus scanner to work but it didnt pick up anything.
what should i do? would it help if i knew where i got the virus from? thanks in advance |

Yeah, I had that one too - infected most of my exe files (including crucial Windows files)...
As far as I remember it was called "funlove" or something... I used some freeware virus killer which removed the viruses from the files but most of the files ended up corrupt :whip:
Funny thing, though - it said in the virus definition it only spreads through email attachments, but I hadn't even received any attachments in 6 months or so... so I was thinking it came from my old 133mhz PC which I'd hooked to my PC through LAN - but even that was recently formatted and hadn't been used in years before that... :conf: |
