NTSC Compatibility re: CD's

I once bought a DVD on ebay from a seller in the UK. I later found out that it won't work on my north american DVD player because of this NTSC compatibility issue!! Anyone know if this also applies to CD's? (although i remember buying one in France and it was fine)??
My assumption is I shouldn't have any issues.
Any thoughts anyone?

yeah..i just did a little research and it looks like it affects DVD's only.

| there is a problem with european vhs, but that's not much of a problem anymore |

| if your vhs reads pal/secam/ntsc(us+jp) then it's ok :) |
