god damn. i'm sorry, valentines day doesn't suck, it isn't some day where you just buy some flowers and some candy for a girl and she'll magically fall in love with you. its a day to SHOW the one that you do love, how much you love them. so don't be cheap. just do something that will make her happy.
last year with my ex gf. i typed up this amazing letter/poem in a nice font, with a star in the background, and it was bacially a letter comparing my gf to a shooting star. like, its amazing, leaves you speechles and even when its gone, you'll still always remember it, because its impact is that strong. but that wasn't it for the letter, it was also an invitation to "sellers amphitheatre on the night of valentines day, deamed so by the gods" and i signed it with the "Anonymous Admirer." i went all out on this letter. took about 5 solid hours to get it perfect, and thats only the beginning. sellers amphitheatre, which is an outdoor amphitheatre here on campus, where me and my ex gf hung out for the first time. we just went there at night and just sat and talked and layed down looking at the stars. hence the shooting star bit in the letter. so anyway, i told her to meet me there at 9pm, and when she got there, she didn't see me, because i was standing on the roof. so i was just watching her as shes walking around all stumped, and then she looks up and sees me standing on the roof and shes like "HEY!" so i go down, and i show her the secret way up, and as soon as she's on the roof, she goes speechless. i got a huge picnic blanket, put it on the roof, got a HUGE candle as a centerpiece, 18 other small candles, all on the blanket. two big pillows for us to sit on. a picnic basket (that i bought sepretly for this). a bowl of valentine's m&ms. we both loved m&ms. the first night we actually hung out alone she brought me a huge bag of peanut m&ms. i had champaign glasses, but she never drinks, so i got apple juice (her favorite drink) instead. i every single type of fruit you can think of, because she loves fruit. hell, i even got dinner. lol. i went over to olive garden right before, and picked up a chicken parmeson (sp?) for her. omfg. she was speechless. OH!! and roses all over the picnic blanket too.
seriously, she was speechless. couldn't talk for 15 minutes. no joke.
THATS THE WAY YOU DO VALENTINES DAY! NOT NO CRAP ! just be creative, and think of the person you are or want to spend the day with.
this year, i'm stuck alone on valentines day though :( ING ATLANTIC OCEAN! :whip: |

| hehe woah. forgot i made this thread, i thought i wanted to make it but forgot i really did. Anyways, i have to agree with most guys that v-day is just for money. I guess you dont really need a offical day to show your love for a girl. Just society telling you have to :whip: . But this girl i really like, she sorta likes me but we're not going out yet. I'll problay find some stuffed toy for her and write her a card. Hmm.. anyone care to help me on writing the card :D |

I think a perfect Valentine's Day is spending it with those loved most.  
When you are madly in love with someone, you can't help showing a little appreication to that person.

"valentines day is just some day made up by the card and flower companies to make money" whoever says that , god damn you're a ing and a loser.
you don't HAVE to spend lots of money. its not my damn fault the girl you're with is really high maintance, and i'm sorry you don't have the balls to come up with something original, so yeah, bitch and cry about how you have to buy her some expensive ass necklace. and the fact that you have to bitch about it, just shows that you don't really care about the girl anyway.
for me its different, IF i had the money to buy my gf a 660 quid ring right now, i would. and you wouldn't hear a WORD out of me about how expensive it was, cuz her being happy is worth ALL the damn money in the world. but my gf is understanding, and she KNOWS i don't have the money for it. so i use my BRAIN in showing her that i love her.
god damn it. some people really piss me off around valentines day time. MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING!!! for me, love is.

hrmm, i guess i would have to agree with 'pat'. Effort & Innovation are the two main things i suppose. Im still deciding on what to do, but im sure i will come up with something right.
and its hilarious, all the guys are saying either to do nothing, or to do something extravagent, but all the girls are saying is sex. go figure. |
