Nice track, I like it :)
Some comments/questions:
1. The intro is unusual and slow. Aesthetically it's interesting, but from a DJ's point of view it would be a bitch to mix into.
2. The drums/bass/drumrolls should be louder, punchier, "in yo' face" :)
3. Why are using kicks only? It would be much better if you also used snares or claps for every kick (like the standard kick-snare pattern)
4. Don't introduce the whole melody too soon, save it for later :)
5. Some more dynamics, energy, movement, would be nice... I guess you could use louder hi-hats for that.
6. Curious, where did you get the vocal sample, and the sample for that main snare?
keep up the good work |

But remember.. I'm still a noob in producing.. It's only my 4th track :) but I'm learning :)
I don't know where i got the sample from .. got alot of them on my HD ..
But you can find some links in the music producers forum :) |

... I just wrote you a long comment and the lagging TA forum , havent saved it, and i lost that page...
so i'll try again :)
I'm also working on my 4th track now.. .:)
so i like your track, nice bass line, and cool relexinng melodies.
also you use the snares and drum rolls too much i think, :)
2:10 and on reminds a bit of ATB , that cool :)
the new synth at 4:00 is cool, but its volume is too high compering the rest i guess, also tweak it alittle, cause it has some kind of looping sound :)
5:30 till the end, very cool again
have fun mate, and good luck!

hehe i use exactly the same software :)
firstly, take that tick out of the intro, it would work miles better without it :) (and dj worth his salt wouldnt care about the intro.. u cue from the first beat in most cases so having an intro isnt a problem)
the synth u have coming in thru 2 mins is nice, could maybe do with some fx on it to give it some arse kicking ability.. a bit of reverb and some compression would do the trick. the same goes for the lead synth..
the lead synth at 4 mins, needs to flow in one smooth motion instead of having the synth going twice every beat.. turn the attack up and the release up :) also both the synths u have running need to vary more, elaborate on the melody, make the loop of it twice as long :)
the beat is very basic, u need to find better samples, and use more variation thru the track, as u have the same percussion running thru pretty much all the track. u need some hats on every off beat at least to give it some motion.
not bad for early work, although u need to work hard on the percussion issues :)
have fun! |
